An Exploratory Study on the Practices of Knowledge Management in Software Dev...ijcnes
This study explores the current trends of knowledge management system and its practices in software development organizations. This Paper identifies the approaches towards KM for knowledge acquisition, representation and sharing. Application of KM practices in the software development work are stated and analyzed. These Case studies shows current KM practices and KM implementations that are followed in software development organizations. And also specifies the KT activities involved in Knowledge sharing. Organizations follow either codification or personalization [1] strategy. Most of the Organizations mix and match the KT techniques from the KM strategies and follow their own strategy according to their convenience. Here, to implement KM strategies, how KM portals and KM systems are utilized for shortening the skill gaps among employees is also mentioned. These findings identified that organizations understand the need of knowledge sharing but knowledge acquisition, representation and sharing is not organized clearly. Few organizations are successful in knowledge management implementation.

The impact of virtual learning must start from the grassroots. In a poverty-oriented country like India, not all families are privileged enough to send their children to a proper school. Most families in our country cannot afford a proper education for their children. However, it is to be noted that most of the youngsters, irrespective of their status and family backgrounds do in fact carry a smartphone furbished with internet connectivity.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.
1. Some interesting terminologies
Capacity Building:
Capacity building is the process by which individuals and organizations obtain, improve,
and retain the skills, tools, equipment and other resources needed to a greater capacity.
It can also be described as the strategies that an organization takes to ensure that it has
the resources needed to succeed. These actions can include: resource development,
financial management, organizational learning, leadership development and other
activities.
Content engineering:
Content engineering is the practice of organizing the shape, structure, and application of
content. Creating and delivering engaging content experiences to customers across
multiple channels challenges even the largest organizations. Content engineering tends
to bridge the gap between groups involved in the production of content and more
technologically oriented departments, and requires an understanding of the processes of
both sides.
2. Simulator:
Simulation based eLearning solutions are being created to provide learners a chance to
explore and practice on newer software or other applications before actually working on
them. More and more forward thinking companies are turning to simulation-based
learning to get a better trained staff, in a shorter time, and to save costs. Simulator and
simulation-based training also deliver continuity.
Information services:
Information services can be considered as agency or department responsible for
providing processed or published information on specific topics to an organization’s
internal users, its customers, or the general public. ‘Information Services’ are sometimes
considered by the journal to comprise both the entities and the functions with which they
are involved. These subjects are therefore considered as distinct from information uses
which are concerned with service applications.
Documentaries:
Documentaries and films can bring the world to students in very real ways. Even when
excellent course materials are available, the addition of documentaries to teaching brings
a number of enhancements. Documentaries are emotionally powerful vehicles that can
transport students to other cultures and create an awareness of global issues from the
inside out through feeling and empathy.
