water.
• These systems are typically used on
a residential level but can be
applied commercially given the
budget.

Conclusions
• Best radiation between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
• A higher UV index will give better results
• Highest temperature achieved with this system: 98.8 ℉
• What to improve
• Location of system to allow for longer periods of solar capture
• Angle of system as mine was fairly vertical
• Add insulation to system to keep a consistent temperature even when the
air cools down.

Conclusions • Best radiation between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. • A higher UV index will give better results • Highest temperature achieved with this system: 98.8 ℉ • What to improve • Location of system to allow for longer periods of solar capture • Angle of system as mine was fairly vertical • Add insulation to system to keep a consistent temperature even when the air cools down.

Would this hurt or help the system Protect from natural breakdown from weather and insect/animal damage Homemade System: Some parts may be bought to save money but need replaced more often due to wear Without a professional to help, the system could be worse for energy consumption Environmental Impact: Will your system outweigh the amount of energy from gas and electric Are the materials used to build it recycled or recyclable?
  2. At 9 am it was still kind of chilly and there was no direct sunlight on the system resulting in no dramatic change in the outflow temperature. In fact a drop in temperature from the inlet flow was recorded meaning the system actually cooled the water.
