This document discusses the public sector and digital technology. It begins by highlighting some of the positive impacts of public sector work, such as improving lives, saving lives, and making democracy work. However, research results presented show that with similar pay, many people prefer to work in the private sector and see other sectors as providing more career value. The document argues that an alliance is needed to celebrate the public sector as a great place to work and break down silos. It should encourage participation from the public, private and third sectors as well as citizens to improve the perception and reality of public sector work.
