Presenting the Open Data Institute and our efforts to make North Carolina the largest interoperable data market in the world. Data must be broken down and analyzed for it to have value. Information included about Open Data portals and competitions in North Carolina.
Revelations about how data about us is shared by companies like Facebook have caused alarm and raised important questions about the use and misuse of personal data. How do we enable people, organisations and communities to use data to make better decisions and be protected from any of its harmful impacts? This session will discuss the issues around this topic and demonstrate a new approach for organisations to identify and manage data ethics considerations: the Data Ethics Canvas.

Russian anarchist and anti-war movement in the third year of full-scale warAntti Rautiainen
Anarchist group ANA Regensburg hosted my online-presentation on 16th of May 2024, in which I discussed tactics of anti-war activism in Russia, and reasons why the anti-war movement has not been able to make an impact to change the course of events yet. Cases of anarchists repressed for anti-war activities are presented, as well as strategies of support for political prisoners, and modest successes in supporting their struggles.
