A constitution outlines the rules and powers of government, often in a written document. There are several forms of government including aristocracy, democracy, dictatorship, and monarchy. An aristocracy is ruled by prominent citizens, a democracy is ruled directly by citizens or through elected representatives, a dictatorship is ruled by a single dictator without hereditary rules, and a monarchy gives supreme power to a monarch as head of state. A state is a politically autonomous entity with internal and external sovereignty over a geographic area and population not dependent on any other power. This document was written by Andrea Carolina Franco Gallego for Diego Villamisar of the 5A class at Colegio Bilingue Richmond for the 2009-2010 school year.
