while allowing them to promote their desired culture, mission, or

Why use social media
Social media is a great tool to help you engage with your friends and customers
find out what people are saying about your business and others . You can also
and mobile applications for people to view and comment on . Social media can
help you or your business let people know what's going on in your life, attract
customers, get customer feedback and build customer loyalty.
SOME PEOPLE WOULD SAY FORMS OF SOCIAL MEDIA STARTED IN THE 19TH CENTURY.
SAMUEL MORSE CREATED A TELEGRAPH MACHINE AND THROUGH MORSE CODE HE
WAS ABLE TO SEND MESSAGE TO OTHER PARTS OF THE UNITED STATES. HIS FIRST
MESSAGE WAS SENT FROM BALTIMORE TO WASHINGTON DC SAYING “WHAT HATH
GOD WROUGHT”
 WHEN DID SOCIAL MEDIA START?
I REMEMBER IN 1995/96 SIGNING ONTO AOL DIAL UP. I REMEMBER THE PINGS,
THE DINGS THE DANG SOUNDS LEADING UP TO GETTING ON THE INTERNET
THROUGH A LANDLINE. AOL SIGN ON
I KNEW THAT I WAS ABLE TO LOG ON, GO TO WEBSITES, CHECK SPORTS SCORES,
DAILY NEWS, AND PLAY GAMES. THE BAD THING WAS WHEN YOU GOT A PHONE
CALL TO YOUR HOUSE IT WOULD KICK YOU OFF THE INTERNET AND YOU
WOULD HAVE TO START THE PROCESS OVER AGAIN HOPING THERE WAS NOT
TO MANY PEOPLE ON TO CLOG THE BAND WIDTH.
 My experience with computer before the boom of social media
IN 2004 A STUDENT AT HARVARD DEVELOPED THE FIRST MAJOR SOCIAL
MEDIA PLATFORM “THE FACEBOOK” WHICH MOVED ON LATER TO JUST
BECOME FACEBOOK. FACEBOOK IS SAID TO BE USED BY 69% OF ADULTS
IN THE US. FACEBOOK IS WORTH APPROXIMATELY 138 BILLION DOLLARS
WITH 98% OF THAT COMING FROM ADVERTISING.
 THE BOOM OF SOCIAL MEDIA
THE BOOM WAS SHORT TO FOLLOW BOTH YOUTUBE(2.1 BILLION USER)
AND REDDIT(52 MILLION USER) STARTED IN 2005, TWITTER(186 MILLION
USERS) WAS FOUNDED IN 2006, INSTAGRAM WAS STARTED IN 2010
AND NOW HAS OVER 1 BILLION USERS WORLD WIDE, SNAPCHAT WAS
STARTED IN 2011 BY A FEW STANFORD STUDENTS AND IS NOW USED BY
73% OF ADULTS
 THE BOOM OF SOCIAL MEDIA (continued)

AS OF SEPTEMBER 13, 2021 TWITTER AND FACEBOOK HAS GENERATED THE
MOST REVENUE THROUGH ADDS. IT IS SAID THAT IN 2021 OVER 50 BILLION
DOLLARS WILL BE GENERATED THOUGH SOCIAL MEDIA SITES. ESTIMATES SHOW
THAT IS 2021 THERE ARE ALMOST 4.5 BILLION USERS OF SOCIAL MEDIA.
 REVENUE GENERATED THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA
I BELIEVE THAT SOCIAL MEDIA HAS GIVEN THE LITTLE GUY A CHANCE TO
ADVERTISE WITH LITTLE TO NO COST. MANY SMALL BUSINESSES DON’T HAVE
THE RESOURCES TO HAVE BOTH A SALES AND MARKETING DEPARTMENT. THE
USE OF SOCIAL MEDIA GIVES PEOPLE THE ABILITY TO GET THEIR WORD OR
PRODUCT OUT TO POTENTIALLY MILLIONS OF PEOPLE. BIG COMPANY ARE STILL
ABLE TO DO WHAT THEY DO BUT THIS GIVES SOME SMALL GUYS A FIGHTING
CHANCE IN A ENTREPRENEURS WORLD.

You can also and mobile applications for people to view and comment on . Social media can help you or your business let people know what's going on in your life, attract customers, get customer feedback and build customer loyalty.
  • 4. SOME PEOPLE WOULD SAY FORMS OF SOCIAL MEDIA STARTED IN THE 19TH CENTURY. SAMUEL MORSE CREATED A TELEGRAPH MACHINE AND THROUGH MORSE CODE HE WAS ABLE TO SEND MESSAGE TO OTHER PARTS OF THE UNITED STATES. HIS FIRST MESSAGE WAS SENT FROM BALTIMORE TO WASHINGTON DC SAYING “WHAT HATH GOD WROUGHT”  WHEN DID SOCIAL MEDIA START?
  • 5. I REMEMBER IN 1995/96 SIGNING ONTO AOL DIAL UP. I REMEMBER THE PINGS, THE DINGS THE DANG SOUNDS LEADING UP TO GETTING ON THE INTERNET THROUGH A LANDLINE. AOL SIGN ON I KNEW THAT I WAS ABLE TO LOG ON, GO TO WEBSITES, CHECK SPORTS SCORES, DAILY NEWS, AND PLAY GAMES. THE BAD THING WAS WHEN YOU GOT A PHONE CALL TO YOUR HOUSE IT WOULD KICK YOU OFF THE INTERNET AND YOU WOULD HAVE TO START THE PROCESS OVER AGAIN HOPING THERE WAS NOT TO MANY PEOPLE ON TO CLOG THE BAND WIDTH.  My experience with computer before the boom of social media
  • 6. IN 2004 A STUDENT AT HARVARD DEVELOPED THE FIRST MAJOR SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM “THE FACEBOOK” WHICH MOVED ON LATER TO JUST BECOME FACEBOOK. FACEBOOK IS SAID TO BE USED BY 69% OF ADULTS IN THE US. FACEBOOK IS WORTH APPROXIMATELY 138 BILLION DOLLARS WITH 98% OF THAT COMING FROM ADVERTISING.  THE BOOM OF SOCIAL MEDIA

THE BOOM WAS SHORT TO FOLLOW BOTH YOUTUBE(2.1 BILLION USER) AND REDDIT(52 MILLION USER) STARTED IN 2005, TWITTER(186 MILLION USERS) WAS FOUNDED IN 2006, INSTAGRAM WAS STARTED IN 2010 AND NOW HAS OVER 1 BILLION USERS WORLD WIDE, SNAPCHAT WAS STARTED IN 2011 BY A FEW STANFORD STUDENTS AND IS NOW USED BY 73% OF ADULTS  THE BOOM OF SOCIAL MEDIA (continued)
  • 9. AS OF SEPTEMBER 13, 2021 TWITTER AND FACEBOOK HAS GENERATED THE MOST REVENUE THROUGH ADDS. IT IS SAID THAT IN 2021 OVER 50 BILLION DOLLARS WILL BE GENERATED THOUGH SOCIAL MEDIA SITES. ESTIMATES SHOW THAT IS 2021 THERE ARE ALMOST 4.5 BILLION USERS OF SOCIAL MEDIA.  REVENUE GENERATED THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA
  • 10. I BELIEVE THAT SOCIAL MEDIA HAS GIVEN THE LITTLE GUY A CHANCE TO ADVERTISE WITH LITTLE TO NO COST. MANY SMALL BUSINESSES DON’T HAVE THE RESOURCES TO HAVE BOTH A SALES AND MARKETING DEPARTMENT. THE USE OF SOCIAL MEDIA GIVES PEOPLE THE ABILITY TO GET THEIR WORD OR PRODUCT OUT TO POTENTIALLY MILLIONS OF PEOPLE. BIG COMPANY ARE STILL ABLE TO DO WHAT THEY DO BUT THIS GIVES SOME SMALL GUYS A FIGHTING CHANCE IN A ENTREPRENEURS WORLD.  Closing
