The document discusses setting up Git and GitHub. It provides steps for downloading and installing Git, setting up SSH keys, adding user information, and then celebrating once the setup is complete. It also provides guidance on creating repositories, forking repositories, following friends, and moving local repositories to GitHub.

Using Kubernetes for Continuous Integration and Continuous DeliveryCarlos Sanchez
Learn how to scale your Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery environment using containers. The Kubernetes project provides a container orchestration solution that greatly simplifies app deployments in large clusters and you can use Jenkins and Kubernetes together to run jobs on-demand.
Building and testing is a great use case for containers, both due to the dynamic and isolation aspects, but it increases complexity when scaling to multiple nodes and clusters.
Jenkins is an example of an application that can take advantage of Kubernetes technology to run Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery workloads. Jenkins and Kubernetes can be integrated to transparently use on demand containers to run build agents and jobs, and isolate job execution. It also supports CI/CD-as-code using Jenkins Pipelines and automated deployments to Kubernetes clusters. The presentation will allow a better understanding of how to use Jenkins on Kubernetes for container based, totally dynamic, large scale CI and CD.

Introduction to GitHub Actions - How to easily automate and integrate with Gi...All Things Open
Presented by: Brent Laster
Presented at the All Things Open 2021
Raleigh, NC, USA
Raleigh Convention Center
Abstract: In this talk, open-source author, trainer and DevOps director Brent Laster will provide a solid introduction to GitHub Actions. You’ll learn about the core parts and pieces that make up an action, as well as the types of functionality and features they provide. You’ll also see how to combine them in simple workflows to accomplish basic tasks as well as how they can fit into a CI/CD environment.
My talk from Dockercon EU in Amsterdam, Dec 2014. Original abstract:
The ModCloth Platform team has been building a Docker-based continuous delivery pipeline. This presentation discusses that project and how we build containers at ModCloth. The topics include what goes into our containers; how to optimize builds to use the Docker build cache effectively; useful development workflows (including using fig); and the key decision to treat containers as processes instead of mini-vms. This presentation will also discuss (and demo!) the workflow we’ve adopted for building containers and how we’ve integrated container builds with our CI.
Slides on the new Janus Lua plugin, as presented at the Real-time Communications devroom at FOSDEM2018. Describes in detail what the challenges were, and how we addressed them, with a few real examples at the end (including a demo written specifically for this session).
Git is the new gold standard when it comes to versioning in the Web age. Git is an open source, distributed version control system designed to handle everything from small to very large projects with speed and efficiency.
Version control should always be used when doing software development and most open source projects use version control and there is no exception for Wakanda applications.
In this session we give an introduction to Git, we explain how to use it with Wakanda, the process of creating and cloning repositories, as well as working with branches in a distributed team environment, and finally dealing with merging source code with your team members.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.
