Here now  The new Analyze Results tool is  different from the existing View Citation Overview , which analyzes selected results based on their citations.  The new tool looks at numbers of documents rather than citations of those documents.

On all document results pages, there will be a  new Analyze Results link  in the query box. This link opens a new analysis tool.
The default tab, charts  Document Count by Year .  This is helpful for  visualizing trends in total output  related to your query. This example shows fast growth in publications on our query.
The Source Title tab, charts  Document Count by Journal per Year .  This can be used to  help decide the best journal to submit a manuscript  to. This example shows  steady growth in publications on our query in Bioresource Technology .
This is only showing growth in publications, it says nothing about quality.  Clicking  Compare in Journal Analyzer  connects this to our existing tool for comparing  journal quality.
SCImago Journal Rank (SJR) shows  steady growth  for Bioresource technology , though it isn’t the highest impact by SJR.
Source-Normalized Impact Per Paper (SNIP)  shows fast growth  for Bioresource technology , assigning it the highest impact .  Since  SNIP is designed to normalize between disciplines , this might be the best measure for our example. Clicking any point on the chart opens a  contextual information box. Since Bioresource Technology shows both the highest growth in publications on our topic and in normalized impact, let’s double check if its documents are on topic.  Looks like they are, so this will be the best place to publish.
The Author tab graphs  number of documents per author . It is easy to add or remove authors to compare.  Simply select or deselect a checkbox. This tab could be helpful for  analyzing collaborators and competitors.
Like in the Source Title Tab, the Author tab compares quantity rather than quality. However, the contextual information box for each author enables  linking to our existing analysis tools for that author .
