Smart Technologies was founded in 1986 by David Martin and Nancy Knowlton. Smart Notebook, released in the early 1990s, allows educators to create interactive lessons using tools like object animation, shape recognition, and the Smart Recorder. Teachers can find lessons aligned to the Common Core on Smart Exchange and students can record their responses using Smart pens.
