The document promotes carrying reusable cloth bags instead of single-use plastic bags to help the environment. It notes that India generates over 5,600 tons of plastic waste daily that litters streets and fields. While plastic bags are cheap and convenient, they harm the environment. The initiative encourages people to make the small step of refusing plastic bags in favor of reusable cloth bags that are compact, portable, practical and help create jobs. Individual participation is needed to inspire others to make responsible choices for a cleaner environment.

Reusable shopping bags that are eco friendlyiSellPackaging
Most consumers are nowadays environment conscious and are looking for the products coming in eco-friendly and sustainable packaging. Thanks to the “go green movements” and environment awareness campaigns being run on the global scale.
In today's era of heightened environmental awareness, the choice of shopping bags holds newfound significance in the quest for sustainability. Two prominent contenders in this eco-conscious arena are Jute bags and Cotton bags, each offering distinct advantages that resonate with environmentally conscious consumers.
Jute bags, hailing from the versatile jute plant, are characterized by their remarkable durability and biodegradability. These bags are built to withstand the rigors of daily use, capable of carrying heavy loads without succumbing to wear and tear. What sets them apart is their innate ability to decompose naturally, mitigating the long-lasting impact that conventional plastic bags impose on landfills and ecosystems. The biodegradability of jute bags reduces environmental strain and complements efforts to curb plastic pollution. Moreover, the cultivation of jute involves minimal chemical intervention and requires relatively less water, positioning it as an environmentally friendly alternative. A notable bonus is jute's capacity to aid in carbon sequestration during its growth, contributing to climate control measures.
On the other hand, Cotton bags present a time-honored solution for sustainable shopping practices. Derived from the cotton plant, these bags offer a unique blend of durability, versatility, and biodegradability. Cotton bags serve as a sturdy companion for various shopping needs, with the added benefit of being reusable and durable. Their natural breakdown ensures that they do not contribute to the persistent plastic waste problem that plagues our environment. Choosing cotton bags over single-use plastic counterparts substantially reduces waste production and conserves resources. Additionally, cotton is a renewable resource and supports agricultural practices that are less resource-intensive than synthetic alternatives.
In conclusion, both Jute bags and Cotton bags cater to the growing demand for sustainable choices in the realm of shopping bags. While Jute bags excel in their biodegradability and low environmental impact from cultivation, Cotton bags shine with their versatility and reduction of single-use plastic waste. As consumers increasingly align their choices with ecological consciousness, these bags stand as emblematic symbols of responsible consumption and commitment to a greener future.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
