SLIDESHARE
EVALUATION
HOW DID I USE SLIDESHARE?
WHAT DID I USE IT FOR?
• PITCH
• STORYBOARD
PITCH
In my pitch, I used SlideShare so that I could
showcase images, text, and a graph. It was a
slideshow that showed the progression of my ideas
and what I had learnt thus far with my research. It
also provided a helpful layout that made my pitch
look professional.
STORYBOARD
I used this to showcase images and text. It let me
show off my ideas and describe how that they had
developed. I used a lot of images and text so that I
could describe my ideas as well as visually represent
them. This was a useful tool for me for planning and
also useful to demonstrate to others what I hoped to
achieve.
HOW DID I USE IT?
I created my presentation on Microsoft PowerPoint. PowerPoint is a tool I have
been familiar with since I was a child. It is very user friendly and allows a wide range
of multimedia. It also provides templates so that you can do your work easily.
Below are some of the customisation options available. I will highlight the ones
which I used:
HOW DID I USE IT?
- I used this to add new slides into my presentation. There are different types of slides you can add and
with different templates.
- I used this for my storyboard to crop screenshots of my posts from on my blog. This meant that I could
evidence what I was saying and showcase the posts I was talking about.
- I used this to change the text. It could have looked like this or like this depending on how I edited it. I
could change the font, the size, the colour, the spacing. I could make it bold, italicised, underlined,
shadowed
- This inserted shapes. I used a large purple rounded rectangles as a background for my text in my
storyboard and I used the connectors to create my graph in my presentation.
- This was simply used to create the text boxes that I used to do my writeups in. This was an essential tool.
UPLOADING TO SLIDESHARE
• After creating the PowerPoint, I uploaded it to SlideShare, what happened next
was why I didn’t use SlideShare often. It messed up my formatting o my
storyboard, which needed to be uploaded multiple times to fix errors. The website
is not ideal.
• This form of media is useful for large chunks of text as it is a text-based medium
HOWEVER it also breaks the text up to make it more readable and more
engaging.
• Both of the products I created contributed to my research and planning. The
storyboard allowed me to put all of my final ideas together and the pitch allowed
me to put all of my initial ideas together. Thus, I used SlideShare to connect all of
my ideas together.
