- 32. “HOW COULD they who ascribe divinity to aught
beside Allah be granted a covenant by Allah and His
Messenger, unless it be those [of them] with whom
you [O believers] have made a covenant in the vicinity
of the Inviolable House of Worship? [As for the latter,]
so long as they remain true (IS-TAQOMU) to you, be
true to them (FAS-TAQEEMU): for, verily, Allah loves
those who are conscious of Him.”
(Qur’an: Taubah: 9: 7)

- 34. “For, behold, all who say, “Our Sustainer is Allah”,
and thereafter (IS-TAQOMU) stand firm [in their
faith] - no fear need they have, and neither shall
they grieve : it is they who are destined for
paradise, therein to abide as a reward for all that
they have done.”

- 35. “I (Abu ‘Amr) said: O Messenger of Allah (s.a.a.w.), tell me
something about Islam which I need not have to ask anyone
but you. He said :’ Say: I believe in Allah (AA-MANTU BILLAAH);
… and thereafter (ISTAQEEM) remain upright (steadfast) ”

- 37. “And strive hard in Allah’s cause with all the striving that is
due to Him: it is He who has elected you [to carry His
message], and has laid no hardship on you in [anything that
pertains to religion, [and made you follow] the creed of your
forefather Abraham. It is He who has named you in bygone
times as well as in this [divine writ] – “those who have
surrendered themselves to Allah – AL-MUSLIMUUN”, so that
the Messenger might bear witness to the truth before you,
and that you might bear witness to it before all mankind ... “
(Qur’an: Hajj: 22: 78 )

- 38. “ ... Thus, (FA- AQEE-MU AS-SwOLAH) be constant in prayer,
and render the purifying dues, and hold fast unto Allah. He is
your Lord Supreme: and how excellent is this Lord Supreme,
and how excellent this Giver of Succour!”

KHOYRI- LIL-KHOY-RI - WA – ‘AA - NA-HUM - ‘ALAY-HI,
WAF - FIQ-NAA – LIL -KHOYRI - WA – A - ‘IN –NAA – ‘ALAY- HI
“O Allah! (You) Who grant success and assistance
upon the doers of goodness in their ability to do good,
grant upon us the success and the ability to do good.”

- 40. [But,] behold, as for those who say, “Our Sustainer is Allah,”
and then (IS-TAQOMU) steadfastly pursue the right way -
upon them do angels often descend, [saying:] “Fear not and
grieve not, but receive the glad tiding of that paradise
which has been promised to you!”
(Qur’an: Fussilat: 41: 30)

- 41. “(FAS-TAQIM) Pursue, then, the right course, as thou hast
been bidden [by Allah], together with all who, with thee,
have turned unto Him; and let none of you behave in an
overweening manner: (LAA-TATW-GHAU) for, verily, He sees
all that you do.”
(Qur’an: Hud: 11: 112)

“(FA-AQEEM WAJ-HAKA) So direct your face toward
the religion (DEEN), inclining to truth (HANEEFA).
[Adhere to] the FITwRAH (primordial nature) of Allah
upon which He has created [all] people. No change
should there be in the creation of Allah. That is the
correct religion (DEE-NUL-QAY-YEEM), but most of
the people do not know.”
(Qur’an: Rum: 30: 30)
- 44. “And so those who were given knowledge may know that it
is the truth from your Lord and [therefore] believe in it, and
their hearts humbly submit to it. And indeed is Allah the
Guide of those who have believed to a straight path
(SwIRAA-TIN-MUSTA-QEEM).”

- 45. “And do not incline towards, nor rely upon, those who are
bent on evildoing lest the fire [of the hereafter] touch you:
for [then] you would have none to protect you from Allah,
nor would you ever be succoured [helped by Him].”

- 46. “(WA - AQEEM)And be constant in praying (AS-SwOLAH) at
the beginning and the end of the day, as well as during the
early watches of the night: for, verily, good deeds drive away
evil deeds: this is a reminder to all who bear [Allah] in mind.”

- 47. “(WASwBIR) And be patient in adversity: for, verily, Allah
does not fail to requite (reward) the doers of good!.”

- 49. “BUT, ALAS, among those generations [whom We
destroyed] before your time there were no people
endowed with any virtue - [people] who would speak
out against the [spread of] corruption on earth -except
the few of them whom We saved [because of their
righteousness], whereas those who were bent on
evildoing only pursued pleasures which corrupted their
whole being, and so lost themselves in sinning.”

- 50. “For, never would thy Sustainer destroy a community for
wrong [beliefs alone] so long as its people behave
righteously [towards one another].”

- 52. “Teach them to obey Allah, and make them to be
mindful (fear to) being disobedient towards Allah,
instruct them to carry out the commandments, and to
abstain from the forbidden, because this will preserve
them and you from the Hell-fire.”

- 54. “What I have forbidden to you, avoid; what I have
ordered you [to do], do as much of it as you can.
It was only their excessive questioning and their
disagreeing with their Prophets that destroyed those
who came before you.”

- 55. “And the acts of obedience (AD-DEEN) most loved (by Allah)
are those that are performed by its doer,
MUDAW-WAMA (regularly done or consistent).”

- 56. “This religion (Al-Islam) is easy (YUSRUN), and any one who
tries to make it (SHADID) hard (upon himself) will be defeated

promise] known: 'If you are grateful [to Me], I shall most

- 58. “But as for those who strive hard in Our cause -We shall
most certainly guide them onto paths that lead unto Us: for,
behold, Allah is indeed with the doers of good.”

which He has graced a people unless they change their inner
selves: and [know] that God is all-hearing, all-seeing.”

- 60. “Among the believers are men who have [always] been true
to what they have vowed before Allah; and among them are
such as have [already] redeemed their pledge by death, and
such as yet await [its fulfilment] without having changed

- 62. “Allah does not burden any human being with more than he is
well able to bear: in his favour shall be whatever good he does,
and against him whatever evil he does. ‘O our Sustainer! Take us
not to task if we forget or unwittingly do wrong! "O our Sustainer!
Lay not upon us a burden such as Thou didst lay upon those who
lived before us! O our Sustainer! Make us not bear burdens which
we have no strength to bear! "And efface Thou our sins, and grant
us forgiveness, and bestow Thy mercy upon us! Thou art our Lord
Supreme: succour us, then, against people who deny the truth!“
(Qur’an: Baqarah: 2: 286)
