  12. 12.  ” “  Ye have indeed in the Messenger of Allah (Prophet Muhammad s.a.w.) a beautiful pattern (of conduct) for anyone whose hope is in Allah and the Final Day, and who engages much in the praise of Allah. “ ( Qur’an: al-Ahzab: 33: 21 ) All Rights Reserved © Zhulkeflee Hj Ismail (2011)

  15. 15. <ul><li>As students who have understood that development of a noble disposition ( ahklaaqul-Karimah ) requires effort at self purification, we are to seek Guidance from the Qur’an and to emulate the Path taken by the Prophet s.a.w. And the “ Salafusw-swolih ” (the early righteous pioneer). </li></ul><ul><li>They were the ones whom Allah referred to as “ Khayra-Ummah ” the best of people whom our Prophet Muhammad s.a.w . trained and developed. </li></ul>All Rights Reserved © Zhulkeflee Hj Ismail (2011)
  16. 16. <ul><li>We always ask Allah s.w.t. to show us the path of those whom He has showered Blessings and favours, when we recite the Fatiha in our prayers. </li></ul><ul><li>This respond to this supplication is already in the Holy Qur’an.   18. 18. “ BE CONSTANT in [thy] prayer from the time when the sun has passed its zenith till the darkness of night, and [be ever mindful of its] recitation at dawn: for, behold, the recitation [of prayer] at dawn is indeed witnessed [by all that is holy].” ( Qur’an: al-Isra’: 17: 78 ) All Rights Reserved © Zhulkeflee Hj Ismail (2011)

  20. 20. “ And say [in thy prayer]: &quot;O my Sustainer!   23. 23. “ THUS, step by step, We bestow from on high through this Qur'an all that gives health [a healing to the spirit] and is a grace (Mercy) unto those who believe [in Us], the while it only adds to the ruin of evildoers: for [it often happens that] when We bestow Our blessings upon man, he turns away and arrogantly keeps aloof [from any thought of Us]; and when evil fortune touches him, he abandons all hope.” ( Qur’an: al-Isra’: 17: 82-83 ) All Rights Reserved © Zhulkeflee Hj Ismail (2011)

  27. 27. “ THIS, verily, is a reminder ( TADZKIRAH ): let him who wills, then set out on a way to his Sustainer ( SABIL ILA ROBB )! BEHOLD, [O Prophet,] thy Sustainer knows that thou keepest awake [in prayer] nearly two-thirds of the night, or one-half of it, or a third of it, together with some of those who follow thee.” ( Qur’an: Muzzammil: 73: 19-20 ) All Rights Reserved © Zhulkeflee Hj Ismail (2011)

  29. 29. “ Recite, then, as much of the Qur’an as you may do with ease.   31. 31. “ Recite, then, [only] as much of it as you may do with ease , and be constant in prayer, and spend in charity, and [thus] lend unto Allah a goodly loan: for whatever good deed you may offer up in your own behalf, you shall truly find it with Allah - yea, better, and richer in reward.   33. 33. “ O MANKIND! There has now come unto you an admonition ( MAU-’IZAH ) from your Sustainer, and a ( SHIFA’ ) cure for all [the ill] that may be in men's hearts, and ( HUDA ) guidance and ( RAHMAH ) grace unto all who believe [in Him]. Say: &quot;In [this] bounty of Allah and in His grace -in this, then, let them rejoice: it is better than all [the worldly wealth] that they may amass! ” ( Qur’an: Yunus: 10: 57-58 ) All Rights Reserved © Zhulkeflee Hj Ismail (2011)

  35. 35. “ Judge, then, between the followers of earlier revelation in accordance with what Allah has bestowed from on high, and do not follow their errant views , forsaking the truth that has come unto thee.   36. 36. “ And if Allah had so willed, He could surely have made you all one single community: but [He willed it otherwise] in order to test you by means of what He has vouchsafed unto, you. Vie, then, with one another in doing good works!   37. 37. <ul><li>The Qur’an is one of the most precious gifts from Allah to us and is easily available. Yet, its true benefits evades us. The attitude of “ gratefulness ” mentioned in earlier lessons must be developed and applied by us regarding the Qur’an. </li></ul><ul><li>If we realise that our spiritual health is in need of healing, then look not elsewhere, but reflect upon and heed the message in the Qur’an. </li></ul>All Rights Reserved © Zhulkeflee Hj Ismail (2011)

  39. 39. “ Indeed, it is a noble Qur'an. In a Register well-protected; None touch it except the purified. [It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds.” ( Qur’an: Waqi-’ah: 56: 77-80 ) All Rights Reserved © Zhulkeflee Hj Ismail (2011)
  40. 40. <ul><li>This Qur’an being “ Kitaa-bullah ” (the book of Allah), must be approached unlike any other book. </li></ul><ul><li>It is sad that we Muslims sometimes do not even know that there are ADAB concerning how we are to approach the Qur’an.   41. 41. <ul><li>Condition of the recite : </li></ul><ul><li>purity, politeness and quietness, facing the Qiblah </li></ul><ul><li>Amount to be recited – not forgetting to ensure understanding what is being recited. Although you may not know Arabic, today there are translations available (admittedly translation may not be perfect, yet it can give some understanding of the meaning of the Qur’an). </li></ul><ul><li>Recite it in slow and distinct manner ( tartil ) - middle tone- Tajwid , makhraj , qalqalah , etc - beautify it melodiously. </li></ul>All Rights Reserved © Zhulkeflee Hj Ismail (2011)
  42. 42. <ul><li>To weep while reading the Quran </li></ul><ul><li>Fulfil the right ( Haqq ) of the verses recited : </li></ul><ul><li>eg.   43. 43. “ So when you recite the Qur'an, [first] seek refuge in Allah from Satan, the expelled [from His mercy].” ( Qur’an: An-Nahlu: 16: 98 ) All Rights Reserved © Zhulkeflee Hj Ismail (2011)
  44. 44. “ Indeed, there is for him no authority over ( MU’-MINEEN ) those who have attained to faith and rely upon, by putting their trust in their Lord ( MUTAWAK-KILEEN ).   52. 52. “ Then do they not reflect upon the Qur'an, or are there locks upon [their] hearts?” ( Qur’an: Muhammad: 47: 24 ) <ul><li>Some merely regard the mere verbalising from the Qur’an as enough but does not go further into making efforts to understanding the message and implementing it.   57. 57. “ Then how [will it be] when the angels take them in death, striking their faces and their backs?
