The document compares images from the author's magazine to real music magazines. Both the author's front cover and a Lady Gaga cover feature the artist in the center obstructing the masthead with their name written across. Double page spreads in both magazines feature the artists looking away from the camera, which the author found to be a common convention. Contents pages in both magazines feature a large central image from another article surrounded by smaller images representing other features.
Analysis of how a house style is created by the use of media language in real-life magazines (thinking about uses of colour and shapes, font types, images, camera shots, composition etc).

2. FRONT COVER IMAGESFRONT COVER IMAGES
These front covers are very similar in many ways. Both artists are situated in the centre of the page, and
like Lady Gaga, Aly’s head is obstructing the masthead. I have written “ALYS” across alys’ body, and the
same has been done for Lady Gaga. The fact that they are both in the middle and the rest of the articles
are fit around them suggests that they are the main feature of the articles. They both have similar facial
expressions, a common convention that I found during my research.

IMAGESIMAGES
These two double page spreads hold many similarities and differences, so I thought that it would be good to
Point both of them out. The style is quite similar, both artists are looking away from the camera, and I found this
To be an unusual convention as in most magazines the artist is looking at the camera. I chose for alys to have
This facial expression, as I wanted her to be taken seriously by the readers, and that she was serious about her
Music. I also noticed it was a common convention for artists to pose seriously, and so I adopted this into my task.
Both artists are on the Right hand side, with the text on the left, and I think this is a good feature to have as it
focuses on the image and the text separately, each getting the right amount of attention.
4. CONTENTS PAGE IMAGESCONTENTS PAGE IMAGES
These contents pages hold many similarites, one of which is the large image going across the two
pages.
This is obviously the main image, and it has clearly been shown on both images, as it is centred and the
Biggest one. Surrounding both images are smaller ones representing different articles and features in
the
Magazines. I have used an image of my double page spread, and I found that most magazines do this,
or
Use a copy of the front cover, as the copy of Q did. There are a variety of other images on my page, and
like in the copy of Q, I chose a variety of different edits, shots and people, but still portraying the indie
