I did an introductory talk at the 10th edition of Social Now, about the need to embrace async-first collaboration. These slides contain the visuals that I presented. YouTube will have videos that'll help you understand some of the concepts I've presented here.

Intersection18: Meta & Meet: The Core of your Digital and Physical Workplace ...Intersection Conference
Presented at Intersection18 Conference - intersectionconf.com
This session focuses on the necessary unifying basic infrastructure for the company that you are designing. We provide cases and theory of what's possible through a unifying digital workplace that has a huge potential to connect people, information and things.
The cases that we show are practices from the Flemish Green Party, the Port of Antwerp Authority and some other Belgian organisations that have started their search for more unifying digital workplaces, and that I support as an employee and freelancer.
Organisations, corporations, companies have the mission to be ONE: one group of people gathering around one mission and goal. And to achieve that goal, they start a never-ending process of organising things, information and people.
But the traditional hierarchical, waterfall-type, unifying mechanisms fail today. The VUCA world makes it much harder than it used to be. Volatility, complexity, ambiguity, uncertainty force every member of the organisation to be a sensor and an agent connecting and dynamizing inner and outer networks. But is our organisation built for this information-model?
why do some teams perform and others fail? Team effectiveness research has highlighted key actions you can take to enhance team performance. While many are obvious, they are uncommon, so the canvas makes them actionable.
How to make team collaboration suck less!Brian LaMee
Working with people can sometimes suck. You know how it goes, you have to get a team together, you hold countless (or pointless) meetings, nobody knows what the tasks are and who was supposed to do what, nobody can find the right documents or the right version and nobody can access any of the tools to share documents when you need them. This is usually the point where you just throw your hands up and scream, “FORGET IT, I WILL JUST DO IT MYSELF!”
But for most things, you can’t do it all by yourself. You need to collaborate with other members of your team, or other teams in the company or maybe even people outside your organization. Tools have always helped us make things suck less. The airplane made it suck less to get across the ocean, calculators made it suck less to do complex mathematical calculations and now the Cloud and Collaboration tools are making it suck less to work on projects and stay connected as teams.

THE TOP TEN WAYS TO KEEP YOUR PROJECT ON TRACK
CREATED BY: DAVID COTGREAVE
A number of articles have either dropped in my Office 365 inbox this week, or on various social media feeds, each of them detailing a list of the reasons why IT Projects fail.
That's a rather negative way to approach it.
The best sports teams didn't build success by checking out why other teams were losing - they focussed on winning. You should too.
You can certainly learn from the mistakes of others (and yourself) but instead of dwelling on the A to Z of failures, how about championing the S to L of what happens when IT projects are SUCCESSFUL.
S - is for Skills
U - is for Understanding
C - is for Communication (and clarity)
C - is for Change Leadership
E - is for Efficient Execution
S - is for Systems
S - is for Supervision
F - is for Fact-Rooted analysis
U - is for User input
L - is for Learn
The S to L of SUCCESSFUL.
If it sounds simple, it's because it is. Sort of.
Except, of course, for the fact that behind each of the ten points above there lies a lot of hard work and hard earned experience - sometimes it's like herding cats - but the gains are there to be won.
Just don't start with a list of why projects fail.
