Skyrim keeps crashing, here is solution
1. Skyrim Keeps Crashing
Skyrim for PC keeps crashing on every 10-25 minutes or so. In this presentation you’ll find the answer why does the
game crashes.
2. Remove Plugins File
• 1. Double click Computer desktop icon.
• 2. Click the View tab on the ribbon interface.
• 3. Check-up the box named “Hidden items”.
• 4. Open the following directory:
• C:UsersXXXAppDataLocalSkyrim
• 5. Right click “plugins.txt” and then select Delete. Confirm the action
3. Change Audio Format Settings
• 1. Press Windows Key + X.
• 2. Click Control Panel.
• 3. Click Hardware and Sound | Sound.
• 4. Sound dialog will open. Click the
Playback tab.
• 5. Select your default device, for example,
Speakers/ Headphones.
• 6. Click the Properties button.
• 7. Click the Advanced tab.
• 8. In Default Format drop down box select
“16 bit, 48000 Hz (DVD Quality)” option.
• 9. Click Apply | OK | Apply | OK.
4. Modify Skyrim Game Configurations
• 1. Double click your User
Files folder on the
desktop.
• 2. Open the My
Documents folder.
• 3. Open the following
folder:
• ..My GamesSkyrim
• 4. Right click
SkyrimCustom.ini file.
• 5. Select Open with |
Notepad.
• 6. Add the following lines
to this document:
[Papyrus]
bEnableLogging=1
bEnableTrace=1
bLoadDebugInformat
ion = 1
7. Click File | Save.
8. Exit the document.
5. Change NVIDIA Control Panel Settings
• 1. Right click your desktop, select NVIDIA Control Panel.
• 2. Click “Manage 3D Settings”.
• 3. In the new dialog click the Global Settings tab.
• 4. Set the Power Management Mode to Prefer Maximum Performance.
• 5. Click the Program Settings tab.
• 6. Repeat Step # 4.
• 7. Click OK.
• 8. Restart your machine for the changes to take effects.
6. Resolve Cache Integrity Issues
• 1. Open the Steam application.
• 2. Explore the Games Library.
• 3. Right click the game name, i.e. Skyrim.
• 4. Select Properties from the context menu.
• 5. A new dialog will open.
• 6. Click the Local Files tab.
• 7. Click “Verify integrity of game cache”.
7. Resolve Cache Integrity Issues
• 1. Open the Steam application.
• 2. Explore the Games Library.
• 3. Right click the game name, i.e. Skyrim.
• 4. Select Properties from the context menu.
• 5. A new dialog will open.
• 6. Click the Local Files tab.
• 7. Click “Verify integrity of game cache”.
