The Exhibition is the culminating project of the IB PYP program for 5th grade students. It involves students working in groups to conduct an open-ended inquiry into a real-world issue of their choosing. Over the course of 5 weeks, with guidance from mentors and teachers, students research their topic, develop their understanding of key concepts and skills, and create a final multimedia presentation to share their findings. The goal is for students to independently apply what they've learned over their PYP experience to an issue that interests them personally and globally. Progress and work is assessed using rubrics, with the focus being on the learning process rather than just the final product.
The Punjab Group of Colleges was established in 1985 and has grown to 307 campuses across Pakistan educating over 259,000 students. It uses a campus management system powered by Tower Technology to automate processes like generating merit lists, tracking attendance and results, and managing faculty and inventory. This centralized system allows the group to make strategic decisions, maintain operational excellence and customer intimacy, and gain a competitive advantage for survival in the modern era.

The Office of Alumni Affairs has developed an engagement plan with steps to strengthen student engagement and recognize generational differences among alumni.
The student engagement portion focuses on building affinity early by providing opportunities for current students to interact with alumni and develop a sense of community. The alumni engagement portion recognizes that different generations of alumni have different values, experiences, and preferred methods of communication due to factors like their age and the historical period in which they came of age. It recommends providing targeted media and engagement opportunities tailored to each generation's preferences to improve alumni participation and giving. Personalized outreach through affinity groups and class agents is also emphasized as a highly effective engagement strategy.
Dr. Pooja Walia discusses smart classrooms and their advantages. A smart classroom uses technology like computers, internet access and multimedia devices to enhance the learning process and increase students' retention of course content. It provides quality education through tools like 3D animated modules and videos. Key characteristics of a smart classroom include adaptive learning, collaborative learning, access to computing devices, performance-based assessments and student-centric learning. Students take responsibility for their own learning. Overall, smart classrooms provide an innovative and interactive learning environment that engages students and helps improve their performance.

Public libraries in the UK have undergone significant changes in recent years to adapt to the 21st century. A national framework provides funding and standards to help libraries transform their services and focus on books/reading, community spaces, and digital skills. Case studies show how libraries in London Borough of Croydon collaborate with schools and engage diverse community groups like families and immigrants through services like Bookstart, literacy programs, and learning centers. As libraries continue reinventing their roles and staff skills, their goal is to remain vital community places that improve lives through knowledge, advocacy, and support of citizens.

Public libraries in The Netherlands: a powerful networkFers
In this presentation I will briefly present the structure of the public library network in the Netherlands, with particular emphasis on the way public library innovation is “organised”. There is currently a community of practice (CoP) organised for every specific area of library innovation which at the same time also addresses officially established national priorities, i.e. lifelong learning, development of traditional library services, education of the young population, etc. Librarians in each of the CoPs share experiences specific to their field based on which they identify future activities aimed at the development of the particular field. Librarians included in this CoP system come from libraries of all types and sizes regardless of the province or region.

Climate Impact of Software Testing at Nordic Testing DaysKari Kakkonen
My slides at Nordic Testing Days 6.6.2024
Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.
Threats to mobile devices are more prevalent and increasing in scope and complexity. Users of mobile devices desire to take full advantage of the features
available on those devices, but many of the features provide convenience and capability but sacrifice security. This best practices guide outlines steps the users can take to better protect personal devices and information.

In the rapidly evolving landscape of technologies, XML continues to play a vital role in structuring, storing, and transporting data across diverse systems. The recent advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) present new methodologies for enhancing XML development workflows, introducing efficiency, automation, and intelligent capabilities. This presentation will outline the scope and perspective of utilizing AI in XML development. The potential benefits and the possible pitfalls will be highlighted, providing a balanced view of the subject.
We will explore the capabilities of AI in understanding XML markup languages and autonomously creating structured XML content. Additionally, we will examine the capacity of AI to enrich plain text with appropriate XML markup. Practical examples and methodological guidelines will be provided to elucidate how AI can be effectively prompted to interpret and generate accurate XML markup.
Further emphasis will be placed on the role of AI in developing XSLT, or schemas such as XSD and Schematron. We will address the techniques and strategies adopted to create prompts for generating code, explaining code, or refactoring the code, and the results achieved.
The discussion will extend to how AI can be used to transform XML content. In particular, the focus will be on the use of AI XPath extension functions in XSLT, Schematron, Schematron Quick Fixes, or for XML content refactoring.
The presentation aims to deliver a comprehensive overview of AI usage in XML development, providing attendees with the necessary knowledge to make informed decisions. Whether you’re at the early stages of adopting AI or considering integrating it in advanced XML development, this presentation will cover all levels of expertise.
By highlighting the potential advantages and challenges of integrating AI with XML development tools and languages, the presentation seeks to inspire thoughtful conversation around the future of XML development. We’ll not only delve into the technical aspects of AI-powered XML development but also discuss practical implications and possible future directions.
