This document discusses Library Carpentry, which teaches digital skills to librarians through workshops based on Software and Data Carpentry lessons. It provides an overview of past instructor training events and workshops in Ireland and describes lessons on topics like SQL, OpenRefine, and tidy data. Attendees found the lessons engaging and useful. The presenters argue that Library Carpentry lessons can be customized for library instruction programs and help researchers develop important data skills. Their goal is to train more librarians as instructors and develop additional lessons in the future.
Creating a Library Presence in ANGEL to Facilitate Discovery and ResearchSt. Petersburg College
Since many learners are already comfortable with emerging technologies and services like Google, Wikipedia, iPods, BlackBerries, Netflix, mashups, Facebook, Twitter, et al. it simply makes sense to include similar technologies and services within one\'s course management system. Learners do expect these things to be an integral part of their learning experiences so they will be pleased to discover that one has spent time, in addition to creating outstanding course content, to learn firsthand what 21st century students are using and to then utilize some of these technologies and services.

The Indian economy is classified into different sectors to simplify the analysis and understanding of economic activities. For Class 10, it's essential to grasp the sectors of the Indian economy, understand their characteristics, and recognize their importance. This guide will provide detailed notes on the Sectors of the Indian Economy Class 10, using specific long-tail keywords to enhance comprehension.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

Editor's Notes
So this is a show and tell session about the Carpentries. We’ll look at from a few different angles:
what the Carpentries are, what Library Carpentry is
what LIR’s role in it was and is in pushing it out within the Irish library community
the Carpentry lessons and what kind of things they cover
We’ll look at how we have used them in our own institutions and our own work
most importantly how you can get involved. We think it is a really useful means of developing both your technical and teaching skills and experience. And we believe that it would be brilliant to get more Irish librarians qualified as instructors. So if that seems like something you would be interested in please come and talk to us afterwards.
So to begin a bit of a whistle stop tour of how we got to this point.
They are each communities of Instructors, Trainers, Maintainers, Helpers to teach foundational or introductory computational and data science skills to researchers and librarians.
It is also a suite of lessons which are licenced openly as CC-BY. There are three strands – Data / Software / Library Carpentry – the difference being in the audience for the lessons. Though I have found some of them at least fairly interchangeable.
LIR
So this is typical of both carpentry instructor training and the sessions themselves, groups of people huddled around laptops with sad faces
Jean will talk more about this process of becoming an instructor but one part of it is to give a workshop yourself – and LIR also provided us with that opportunity in November 2019.
As fully fledged instructors we were then able to

Lots of less obvious or less predictable benefits depending on your own role. Armin will talk about repurposing the lessons for workshops in your own institute. Through giving workshops on Git and Github myself I learned that I could use something called Github Pages as a website platform to make more customised lesson sites for my own workshops. I’m in the process of moving these across to a DCU Library github account.
