Sikkim is a diverse land where many tribes and communities live together with unique cultures, languages, dances, and crafts. The climate ranges from subtropical in the south to tundra in the north, with most areas experiencing temperatures between 18-28 degrees Celsius. Traditional Lepcha women wear a long ankle-length garment called a Dumvum. Important cash crops include oranges, cardamom, ginger, turmeric, and buckwheat, which are organically grown and in high demand domestically and internationally. Sikkim has mountainous terrain with elevations from 280 meters to over 8,500 meters, making most land unsuitable for agriculture except for some terraced hillside farms.
