South East Central Railway
The South East Central
Railway (abbreviated SECR and दपूमरे) is one of the
seventeen railway zones in India. It is headquartered
at Bilaspur and comprises the Bilaspur
and Nagpur divisions (formerly part of the South Eastern
Railway) and the new Raipur division.
Data Network
The interconnection of a large number of data processing devices
through suitable communication links enabling data transfer
between the data processing devices constitutes a DATA
NETWORK.. Several applications are operating over the networks,
networks, these are –
(1). Passenger Reservation System (PRS)
(2). UnreservedTicketing System (UTS)
(3). Freight Operations Information System ( FOIS)
Rake Management system (RMS)
Integrated Coaching Management System (ICMS)
Control Office Automation (COA)
Crew Management System (CMS)
Terminal Management System (TMS)

1.Unreserved ticketing
system (UTS)
■ The mobile application eliminates the need for one to visit a
counter for unreserved tickets and also helps in moving
towards a digitised and cashless economy.
■ The app named "UnreservedTicketing System on mobile"
(UTS) allows passengers to book an unreserved paperless ticket
for a journey between any two stations in the SWR region.
■ The app was launched here after then Railway Minister Suresh
Prabhu unveiled it in the national capital in January 2017
Passenger reservation
system (PRS)
■ mostly all of the railway stations will have this PRS Counters
to book tickets through offline.
■ The number of transactions far exceeds the number of
passengers, because of waitlisted tickets and cancellation.
■ PRS counters are nothing but the computerized reservation
counters, you see at the railway stations.

Freight Operations Information
System ( FOIS)
It includes following management system-
■ Rake Management system (RMS)
■ Integrated Coaching Management System (ICMS)
■ Control Office Automation (COA)
■ Crew Management System (CMS)
■ Terminal Management System (TMS)
Integrated Passenger
Information System (IPIS)
Integrated Passenger Information System is a computer based
system providing audio and visual information to passengers
through multiple displays spanning over the entire station. It
includes-
■ Control Console Unit (CCU)
■ Ethernet Switch
■ Data Communication Hubs-
1)Main Data Communication Hub (MDCH)
2)Platform Data Communication Hub (PDCH)
Display Boards-
1)TADDB (Train Arrival Departure Display Board)
2)AGDB (At a Glance Display Board)

Electronic Train Charting
System
It gives information about all the trains, their arrival or departure at a
station, timing, train number, platform on which it will arrive,
announcement is to be done or not, everything. There are also some special
announcements present in the system that are made from time to time, like
announcement for keeping the station clean.

RailNet
■ RailNet is an intranet created for the Administrative and
Organizational Information needs of Indian Railways.
■ Provides communication solutions and information sharing for
divisions, zones, production units, workshops,CTIs and
Railway Board.
■ RailNet uses a web server that is only connected to railway’s
internal network.
■ Internet users cannot access information on the RailNet but
RailNet users can be given the privilege of accessing internet.
■ Railway users access internet through RailNet via internet
gateway.

Integrated Power
Supply(IPS)
The Integrated Power Supply (IPS) provides stable and reliable power
supply. The function of Integrated Power Supply system is to provide a
stable and reliableAC and DC power supply to the Railway signaling
installations against allAC mains variations or even interruptions. This
is very essential for proper movement of trains. IPS system is suitable
for charging 110V battery bank of Low maintenance cells. The SMPS
based Integrated Power Supply (IPS) system is modular in design. It
consists of the following modules:
■ SMPS based Float cum Boost Charger (FRBC) Panel
■ AC Distribution Panel (ACDP)
■ DC Distribution Panel (DCDP)

Conclusion
Indian Railways, as an organization is a very
vast center of telecommunication in itself.
Signaling and communication plays an
important part in Indian Railways. It helps in all
type of exchange of data across the country.
The main achievement of the training at Indian
Railways was getting familiar with the latest
technologies and principles of networking and
an experience as to how to organize the things.
ThankYou!!!
