Christopher Dormoy proposes a concept for an innovative loudspeaker design called Liquisound. He envisions a speaker base formed from liquid chrome pouring over suspended spheres, taking on organic shapes through gravity. Dormoy seeks a partnership with Sid Lee for artistic design and an audio company for technical execution, to bring the concept to life.

At Liquid Agency we're interested in the potential of design to improve the human condition, and we appreciate innovations that offer us new and better ways to interact with the world and with each other. The recent "Innovation by Design" exhibition at Liquid Space PDX, our experimental gallery in Portland, features a collection of diverse products that challenge the status quo in the worlds of furniture, art, apparel, medical devices, toys, typography, photography, jewelry and more. We hope you'll get a chance to stop by and see it, but in case you can't, this is a digital version of the exhibition.
This has been my work over the past year. Since my senior project (at the very end of the book), I have been exposed to different work environments and learning from them, capping them off with a project inspired by my time there. Recently, I've taken to designing for celebrities as rhetorical clients, to attract an audience and build an online profile, as well as properly studying and exhibiting their needs, style and aesthetic and portraying them into the architectural and interior design of the spaces.

The trends of Salone Del Mobile Milan 2016 MILDBERRY
Each spring, designers from all over the world head to Milan in order to visit the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, the most important annual furniture fair in the world. Lots of cities hold their own design weeks, however, the Salone is the first event, which grew into a large-scale arts and culture festival, becoming an incubator for ideas, a venue for inspiration and a good show case of design accomplishments.
Vasily Kassab, Executive Creative director at Mildberry, who used to study and work in Milan, has been attending the annual fair since 2010. He was always keeping an eye on it and the latest design tendencies. After every trip he shares his impressions on the remarkable trends spotted around the fair. Usually, these trends get weaved into the projects we do for our clients. In this presentation you may find the latest observations of the Salone del Mobile 2016.
A look into how we are creating ideas that connect people with brands.
We'll take a look at how to come up with great ideas that leverage technology, whilst making the experiences human.
Recently our campaign for the Sydney Opera House used smart technology and social media to turn photos of this iconic building on Instagram into incredible experiences inside by inviting users to #comeonin.
Technology should always make experiences better.
"Technology and social media can provide anyone around the world with a view of the Sydney Opera House, not an experience. Our use of technology opens the building for all to see, inviting them in whilst remaining invisible throughout.”

The challenge
The over 100 year-old Ajax Amsterdam is a Dutch football club based in Amsterdam. The city has completely related to this legendary and world-famous club: Amsterdam is Ajax, Ajax is Amsterdam. The Dutch national team has built its reputation over time, and the club has won all the awards in the profession: the Champions' League, the UEFA Cup and the European Cup winners' cup.
In 2009, with offices located in the surroundings
of the Dutch capital, Red Bull Amsterdam wanted
to move to a more urban location that would
better reflect its culture and involvement in the
arts and sports. Let us remember that the Austrian
company goes much further than simply selling
its famous energy drink. Since its beginnings, it
has been involved in racing sports (Formula 1,
NASCAR, motorcycle racing) and has been
massively sponsoring extreme sports, like the
Red Bull Crashed Ice world championship. The
company has also invested a great deal in music,
helping young artists or creating traveling
workshops like the Red Bull Music Academy, and
in dance, particularly with its famous B-Boys
from the Red Bull BC One Battles.

Globologos is an oasis for free-roaming ideas, a gathering place
where participants are invited to join a collective effort to build “durable
creativity” that goes beyond the discourse of consumerism.
We live in an age of rapid growth for thinkers and philosophers.
As ideas are pushed beyond their natural sphere, there is
a need to rediscover their primary essence, and this innovative
project transforms ideas back into fertile creative sparks.
Globologos sets out to be a unifying force that brings together
theories about the deeper meaning of life.
As a tribute to the work of Jacques Languirand, this Web
space features a range of concepts which were inspired by the
philosopher’s 35 years of archives and documents, adapted by
Jean-François Alain. The concepts are presented in the site to
provoke debate. Moreover, since human interaction is integral
to inspiration, the project will head to different events, such as
Earth Day, where visitors will be ushered into an anti-boredom
shelter – a veritable biosphere for cultivating curiosity.
In these polarizing locations where expression is not bound
by images or verbs, the elastic potential of the Internet will
jump-start visitors’ imaginations. Aboard Jacques’ cosmic universe,
visitors will travel through a virtual space and discover a
landscape populated by 20 philosophical spheres. And this is
merely the dawn of a forgott en consciousness…
Hello everyone! I am thrilled to present my latest portfolio on LinkedIn, marking the culmination of my architectural journey thus far. The world is being changed fundamentally by AI and we are constantly faced with newspaper headlines about its harmful effects. However, there is also the potential to both ameliorate theses harms and use the new abilities of AI to transform society for the good. Can you make the difference?
4. WHO IS IT ABOUT? WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
My name is Christopher Dormoy. You probably My concept is therefore based on industrial de-

died fine arts. The project is called Liquisound. Liquid is behind
the idea and the very essence of the concepts I
am presenting.
My aim is to enter into a partnership with Sid
Lee for the artistic side of things and with a well-
known Quebec audio company for the technical
side of things.
WHY?
I have been fascinated by all things audio for as
long as I can remember and have always dreamed
of having the chance to design bold, original, and
powerful speakers.
For years, I have sought to integrate organic shapes
into my designs. Liquid is a natural, simple, and
pure element. It is an outstanding starting point
for all kinds of 2D, 3D, and cinematic designs. In
my eyes, using liquid to design speakers is highly
innovative and represents a step forward in the
design of acoustic sources.

5. WHAT IS IT?
Imagine liquid chrome being poured over two sus-
pended spheres—then letting gravity do the rest.
The liquid forms the base of the speaker, a con-
cept that could spawn models of varying shapes
and sizes.
LIQUISOUND LIQUISOUND

8. WHAT IS IT?
Gravity creates a world of beautiful shapes in
nature. The speaker design is inspired by the
most basic representation of water as it feels the
pull of gravity.
With its base on top, this speaker goes against
the concept of the object always resting on the
ground.
The speaker has a number of diaphragms for
maximum sound.
LIQUISOUND LIQUISOUND

10. WHAT IS IT?
This concept is based on the optical illusion of a
spherical speaker turning a wall to liquid as it is
propelled through it. The splash can be painted
to match the wall for greater optical effect.
The size of the speaker may vary from the small-
est satellite style to the largest frontal style.

12. IN CONCLUSION
These various speaker designs are only a hand-
ful of examples summoned from my imagina-
tion. The aim is to create something that reflects
how I look at this everyday object, while giving
Sid Lee a chance to provide input. I am familiar
with the artistic avenues Sid Lee seeks to explore,
and would be delighted to add my ideas to the
creative mix.
