This document describes different types of shots used in filmmaking including extreme close-up shots that focus on character details, close-up shots that show a character's face and shoulders, medium shots that balance characters and background, long shots that provide more background but some character detail, extreme long shots that give a panoramic landscape view with barely visible characters, high angle shots from above that give a sense of being watched, and low angle shots from below that also give a sense of being watched.

An extreme close-up shot majorly concentrates on a character’s details

In aclose-up shot the character’s face and shoulders take the majority of the
picture

4. Medium shots
A medium shot has a balanced concentration of both characters and background

5. Long shots
A long shot gives more background but the characters is still a bit detailed

6. Extreme long shots
An extreme long shot gives a great panorama of the the landscape and the
character barely visible

7. High angle shots
A high angle shot gives you the sense of someone watching you from above

8. High angle shots
A high angle shot gives you the sense of someone watching you from below
