ECU-Extreme close up
 The extreme close up shot is
used to reveal fine details in the
face. It is mostly used it horror to
shot the screams coming from the
subject it might also be used in a
detective TV show for when the
detective picks up a clue and
notices some fine detail .
CU-Close up
 In the close up shot, a
certain feature or part of the
subject takes up most of the
frame, a close up usually
means a close up of the
subjects face. Close ups are
useful for showing detail in
the face but can also be
used as a cut in.
Head and shoulders
 This shot is used for
branding / casting to show
the subjects appearance and
can be used for promotional
pictures, this shot is enough
to show the some detail on
the subjects face along with
lip movement and facial
expressions.
Bust shot
 This shot shows your subject
from the knees up to above
the head it is mostly used for
when the audience is
required to look at what the
subject is doing or interacting
with.
MS - Medium shot
 Medium shots are used for
when the subject is
delivering information, it is
used in interviews and also
news presenters. The most
common is in movie and it
usually follows after the
establishing shot.
MLS – Medium long shot
 Frames the whole subject
from the knees up shows the
subject in relation to the
surroundings and can be
used if you have 2 or 3
persons in the scene.
LS – Long shot
 This shot it useful for
someone who is either
walking or moving.
ELS – Extra long shot
 This gives the viewer some
perspective as to where the
subject is it is most
commonly used in film /
movie but can also be used
in pictures it is also designed
to show the audience where
the action is taking place.
2 shot
 A 2 shot is used for when 2
people are in the scene and
their interaction is important
this shot is also used to show
emotion on the subjects
faces.
OS – Over Shoulder
 This shot is used in film /
movie, the director might use
this shot if he wants to focus
on the person talking or
either doesn't want to reveal
the person who is being
talked to usually these are
head shots ( close ups of the
speaker).
3 shot
 3 shot just like the 2 shot
involves 3 people in the
picture it is exactly the same
as 2 shot but just with an
extra person.
