The world is being changed fundamentally by AI and we are constantly faced with newspaper headlines about its harmful effects. However, there is also the potential to both ameliorate theses harms and use the new abilities of AI to transform society for the good. Can you make the difference?
2. Close up
I'm going to use close up
shots to show the
characters emotions
because these are
important in a thriller movie.
The characters are
supposed to be relatable
and the viewers need to
understand what the
characters are going
through. Close up shots are
a good way of doing this.
3. Over the shoulder
Over the shoulder shots are
good for dialogue and
establishing power between
two characters. Dominance
can be shown through the
use of angles as if the
camera is angled up at
someone then we know
that they are superior to the
other person. I'm going to
use this to establish who is
powerful in my trailer.
4. Cut in/ away.
These are used to show
items of importance or
danger in a trailer. I am
going to use them to
establish danger in my
trailer by using cut aways to
shots of guns and knives. I
wont actually show the
violence because just
hinting at it creates tension
and suspense which I want
in my trailer.
5. Dolly shots
These shots are good for
expositional dialogue. In
thriller films two characters
often walk forwards talking
about important
information. I want to use
this in my trailer as I think it
a good form of exposition.
6. Mid/ long shots
These are good for both action
shots and showing characters
mise-en-scene. Their good for
showing mise-en-scene because
you can see the whole
character. This is good foe
establishing what type of
character are which is why I'm
using it. There also good for
action shots because you can
see the characters without it
being too zoomed in or out. I'm
only going to use a few of these
in my trailer as thriller trailers
don’t show to.
7. Tilting
Tilting shots are also good for
showing danger because you
can tilt the camera down to an
object of danger and cut at the
last second so the viewer cant
see it. This creates tension and
mystery which is a large part of
thrillers so I'm going to use
some of these shots in my
trailer. There also good for
establishing which characters
have more power. If the camera
is tilted up at someone we can
assume that they are more
powerful.
8. Establishing shot
I'm not going to use an
establishing shots, despite
the fact that they are
common in movie trailers.
I'm not using one because I
want the setting in my
trailer to be unknown
because this builds
suspense and mystery. As a
thriller movie, this is
important for my trailer to
make in interesting.
