BRITISH ARMY 1ST BATTALION SCOTS GUARDS
Section Commander 2009 – present
Section Commander, a team leader responsible for 8 to 40 infantry fighting soldiers,
ensuring all aspects of their administration and Discipline were maintained, co-ordinated and
structured.  Assisted in the delivering and coaching of training to my company of 120 men for
shooting requirements, weapon handling safety and platoon level tactics. Instructed soldiers
how to drive and maintain various vehicles the army operate in, in a safe manner.
Accountable for tens of thousands of pounds worth of military hardware ranging from secret
level communication equipment to heavily armoured and highly mobile vehicle platforms.
POWDERMASTERS
Supervisor - 2007 - 2009
• Manage and motivate a team of eleven employees to deliver the objectives of the
business.
• Ensure that the company operates to the European Standards:Akzo Nobel and Du
Pont- guaranteed for 25 years.
• Perform rigorous quality tests using laboratory instruments using the results to adjust
the manufacturing process if necessary.
• Select and recruit suitable team members and provide induction training and on-
going support Identify staff development and training requirements and organise
courses and provide support where required.
STRATHCLYDE POWDER COATING
Supervisor - 2001 - 2007
• Manage and motivate a team of eleven employees to deliver the objectives of the
business.
• Started as a labourer and then trained in every department (spray painter,pre-
treatment operator, quality control technician) before being promoted on merit to
become the company supervisor.
• Perform rigorous quality tests using laboratory instruments using the results to adjust
the manufacturing process if necessary.
• On a daily basis test and calibrate all equipment recording details in a log for audit
purposes.
• Liaise with Auditors from all over Europe (who spot check at any time) that are
checking to see if standards and procedures and being maintained.
Guardsman - 1998 - 2001
As a Guardsman my role was to conduct Ceremonial guard duties in London's Buckingham
Palace, St James Palace and the Tower of London. Responsible for the safety and
protection of these great landmarks and Royal Family, whilst still being able to deploy
anywhere in the world as a frontline soldier and we conducted training in Canada for such
events where I would be a member of an eight man fighting section. This job provided me
with a high level of self-discipline and teamwork skills.
Took part in the Trooping of the colour 1999 the queens birthday parade.
Promoted from 3rd to 2nd then 1st class soldier
UNITED CARRIERS
Van boy/navigator – 1998 Worked as a van boy delivering parcels to various commercial and
residential addresses and navigating the routes.
