CAREER EXPERIENCE
Iraq; Deputy TeamLeader / Ta’az Security Group, Southern Provinces;August 2013- Present:
Deputy Team Leader of a Mobile Protection Team (MPT), operating in the West Qurna and Southern Rumaila oil
fields, assisting with the day to day running of a 6 man team with duties:
 Planning, coordinating and execution of missions around various camps and oil fields including refineries.
 Working with local nationals and local government forces in areas of security.
 Assessing and analysing threats from a day to day perspective in accordance with the safe running of the
contract.
 Establishing and instructing in training programmes for ex pat and local national security personnel,
ensuring up to date training in key skill areas such as weapon handling and first aid, foot and vehicle drills.
 Conducting Recce reports on requested areas of interest for our client.
 Working closely with principles and advising them in all matters of security, with daily and weekly briefings.

Duchess of Cornwall, where I was tasked to control the movements of high profile guests escorting them
though out the Royal Household effectively,
 2006 to 2007- Team Commander for, Bosnia conducting day to day Patrols, where I commanded my
Search Team in conducting several Area/Building/vehicle and personnel searches successfully. I also
conducted the Battalions Driver Theory training and test during this time of which a high percentage
passed.
 2005 to 2006 - I Commanded the fleet for our tour of Op telic 5 Iraq Conducting day to day patrols in Al
Amarah province Supporting the Iraq National Army as well as Police, conducting training in all aspects
of Patrolling/Person/vehicle and area searching, as well as providing close protection for visiting
personnel such as Rageh Omaar whilst he conducted his reporting tasks during the Voting process
period. I commanded a team that carried out the Battle Groups vehicle inspections ensuring the highest
maximum effectiveness to conduct patrols on a day to day basis, rotating vehicles as necessary so they
could be serviced throughout 21day period.
 2003 to 2005 - Qualified Support weapons instructor within the Battalion conducting training to a very
high standard of a pass or fail nature within a strict time line, putting together training packages for
delivering and testing individuals, as well as on operations liaising with Company Commanders calling in
Mortar Fire as Requested in support of the Companies tasking, with the highest of professionalism and
dedication to the operation.
 2000 to 2003 - Direct fire Weapons Effects Simulator Instructor, my main roll was to teach individual
NCO/SNCOs of a trainer trainer nature in all aspects of the electronic weaponry used to assist the Battle
group, to achieve the necessary standards to complete and keep the group ready for forthcoming
operations, then whilst affiliated to a company of men I was the point of contact for any issues regarding
the equipment and maintenance when the Battle scenarios were being played out I would be working as
a fire controller working along side the Mortar Platoon Commander ensuring accurate and effective fire
support missions were carried out t the highest of standards.
 1992 to 1996 - I Commanded a 4 man Team during 5 tours of Northern Ireland conducting day to day
patrols, Area Vehicle and persons searches,as well as communicating with the public, creating a
relationship in a politically sensitive environment. Also during this period I was a battalion Physical
training instructor implementing and training the Battalion in all aspects of Physical Training to a high
standard, conducting Physical training tests of a pass or fail nature.

Key Achievements
 Enjoying all challenges set before me on 7 separate tours of duty in N.Ireland, Bosnia and Iraq where
roles varied throughout my progression in my extensive career from Infantry soldier to Battle Group
Fleet Manager during an extensive 24 years in the British Army.
 Holding the position of HM Queen Elizabeth ll flag sergeant with the responsibilities of coordinating also
liaison with high profile guests as well as high ranking security officials during my 5 years’ service at
Buckingham Palace, with assisting in globalised televised events such as the Royal Wedding along with
Her Majestys Diamond Jubilee also state visits whilst working alongside the palace officials assisting in
the security and smoothrunning of all palace events.
