 July 2012-present: Production Pharmacist at Ranbaxy-Be-Tabs, 14 Lautre Rd, StormHill, Duties
include overseeing of manufacturing of medication (Tablets, liquids and capsules). Accomplishments
include:
 Overseeing of production and GMP at the OSD Granulation, Tabletting and Coating department.
 Successful overseeing of operators fromthe OSD manufacturing department (40 operators).
 Implementation of new procedures to enhance GMP compliance and the subsequent training of
operators.
 Successful Audit compliance for 2012, 2013 and 2014.
 Extensive skills in the compiling of documents such as: change controls, planned and unplanned
deviations, investigations, CAPA’s, and incident reports.
 SOP creation, updating and management.
 Producing of advanced documents for use in production.

goals within a demanding deadline.
 In 2012 I joined in July and at the end of the 2012 year, 32 batches were rejected due to process
error. In 2013 I significantly reduced process related incidents to 18. In the current year (2014),
there have only been 1.5 rejected batches due to process error. This is due to the implementation
of systems I have designed, training of staff, leadership of staff and self discipline.
 Development of tracking systems. RISE document (which stands for raw material store, in
process, stores and efficiency report). This was a systemdesigned to track work in progress in my
area. I ran three departments, granulation, compression and coating. This document has now
become an integral part of planning and is sent daily to planning, quality, quality control, and
production departments. The document has been in use since 2012. This document highlights
product movement and also indicates daily efficiency per department.
 Training Tracker: This is a list of SOPS’s per department to highlight the SOP’s the operators
need to know per department.
 Incident report trackers: To keep up to date with incidents, investigations, deviations, change
controls, CAPA’s.
 Production Planning. I have been involved in compiling planning documents and co-ordinating
planning for four areas: granulation, compression, coating and packaging. During my time to be
part of the production planning we have achieved increased output and especially with the PRP
range.
 Testing Equipment Tracker: I have catalogued all testing equipment and detailed each one with
data such as calibration, next calibration, model, serial number etc and have linked this with
Engineering and Validation.
 GMP has improved drastically in the Manufacturing and incidents leading to rejection are far
lower than the last two years. This is directly due to the stability I bring as a production
pharmacist.
 I have learnt strong leadership in my position. I am able to quickly make decisions on the line or
even at home if they call me at night. I am dedicated to both production and GMP with GMP
being my ultimate focus. The operators and supervisors acknowledge me as a leader and defer to
me whenever problems arise and that is my real skill. I am confident in my ability to make
decisions when emergencies and problems arise. It is easy to decide and plan when things are
going well but it’s a true skill to make decisions when things are not in line with our plans. I am

2. honing this ability and while I don’t think I am anywhere near where I want to be, I want to be in a
leadership position such that I can bring this ability to better use for the company.
 My inter-department relations are very important to me and it is easy to validate this by asking any
manager, head of department, operator, cleaner who I am and what my work ethic is. I pride
myself on knowing as many people as possible and having a great relationship with them.
 Recently I have been nominated for a Ranbaxy International award for my achievements year to
date. I have it through to the second round.
 June 2011-June 2012: Community Service Pharmacist; Hillbrow Regional Pharmacy, 3 Klein
Street- Responsible for distribution of medication from central medical depot (Hillbrow Regional
Pharmacy /HRP) to outlying clinics, hospitals and old age homes. HRP is divided into four main divisions
including, Bulk stores, Schedule 5 medication, Old Age Homes and Pre-pack. Responsibilities included
constant monitoring of drug stock levels, receiving and storage of bulk medication (including cold chain
items) from suppliers and distribution to all government clinics in the Johannesburg Metro Region on a
daily basis. Accomplishments include:
 Recruited by the E.P.I. vaccines committee to co-ordinate the Provincial H1N1 Flu Campaign for
the Johannesburg Metro Region. This included development of clinic distribution rosters (in which
distribution of 23000 vaccines occurred over a 3 month period via 5 rounds), team creation and
allocation and strategy development and implementation for receiving, distribution and collection
of vaccines, team motivation, communication with relevant regional co-ordinators and co-
ordination teams, data management and compiling of a 2012 Vaccine Report.
 Required to directly control Schedule 5 medication stock control and Pre-pack schedule due to
senior pharmacist retiring. Successfully maintained stock levels for Schedule 5 medication for all
clinics in the Johannesburg Metro Region.
 Development of new S.O.P’s for each department within the HRP.
 Team management of up to 15 pharmacy assistants to compile clinic orders. This included
successfully implementing a monitor system to assess weekly clinics serviced and implementing
motivation strategies to improve clinic supply of medication.
 October 2010-January 2011: Pharmacy internship, Parklane Pharmacy, Netcare, Corner Junction
Ave and Parklane Parktown- 400 hours prerequisite training which included evaluation of scripts,
dispensing of medication, stock control and hospital ward rounds. Accomplishments include:
 Basic training into pharmacist responsibilities.
 Completion of Academic Internship Requirements to be registered for community service.
 Communication skills development with patients.

Skill set: My primary skill set is public speaking. I have presented in numerous conferences including an
international conference held in Los Angeles to present my work in my Masters. I have won various accolades
for public speaking including runner up best speaker at the Wits Research day and winner of the national
Toastmasters impromptu competition. I am very confident and trained in speaking to large groups (have
presented to 7000 people) and to intimate professional groups. My dynamic public speaking skills also aid me
with team motivation and leadership. I enjoy leadership roles but am also an avid team player and can take

My Masters’ thesis was passed Cum Laude without any corrections and as such I have been trained well in
producing detailed and thorough documents when required to do so.
