She is…..
Classic… Born in 1985 in upstate New York, Robert and Nicolina Dyer named her Sierra Francesca .
Loved…. I grew up in a house with my mother, father, and two older brothers. We all had the greatest relationship and I cannot think back to a time when I was unhappy. Although we did not have much money we had love for one another. I have always been able to talk to my parents about anything and I consider them to be my best friends. Mom & Dad
Athletic… I always dreamed of playing football but since I couldn’t, basketball became my specialty. I played all throughout high school and college and now play every summer in the Empire All-Stars Basketball League.
A Fashionista…. Fashion to me is more than just the clothes you put on your back or shoes on your feet, it is the way the garment makes you feel. A big bold necklace can make you stand out in a crowd; a vintage costume ring can spark a conversation with a stranger….fashion opens up a world of endless possibilities. As the youngest of 3 with 2 big brothers I always had to rely on hand-me-downs. At 12 I began to work to support my love for fashion, and the revolution began!
Independent…. Raising me to be a person capable of taking care of myself was a priority for my parents. When the world turns its back on you and you have nothing, being able to pick yourself up and continue to grow is an idea that has been instilled in me from a young age. Although I do have a loving and supportive family, I have always worked to build my own brand and be able to start my own empire, which in turn will allow me to support my parents in the future. www.sierradyer.com
Obsessive & Anxious…. I was first diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder when I was 15 years old. At 24 I can finally admit to it. Being able to finish this slide may take another 20 years…….but I will continue to fight….
Educated…. I am a proud graduate of Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, NY with a Bachelor of Science in Media Studies. I worked my way through school as a student athlete and it taught me the value of hard work. I am now a graduate student at Norfolk State University studying Media Management; taking the next step in achieving all my dreams. I will be the first person in my family to receive a Masters Degree.
Inspired…. Everything I have been through and experienced in the past has made me the woman I am today. I have the drive and the passion to make it in this tough world. Things I didn’t have growing up consume my dreams at night; giving my mother a new house and a carefree life or letting my dad loose in a new car lot; being there for my brothers if they ever need me.
Blessed…. I am a child of the Most High* that is why …….
