The Modern World of Information ArchitectureRecordPoint
SharePoint, Office 365, Google Drive, Box, Dropbox. There are so many content services that organizations are leveraging in today’s modern workplace. With more choice and flexibility than ever before, organizations are transforming the way they create and work with information. How does a Records Manager keep up? In this session, we- will explore the impact of content services, and how to evolve information architecture in an ever-changing landscape to ensure you stay compliant and maintain control of your content.
This document discusses content classification and organization in SharePoint. It describes organizing new and existing content through methods like creating custom lists and libraries, assigning metadata, and granting access to users. Content can become disorganized over time, so the document also discusses reorganizing content through classification by usage, content types, and collaboration. Facilitating search and retrieval, addressing content bloat, and ensuring users get the right content through further classification are also summarized. The importance of tools that can perform bulk classification and enable enterprise content management is highlighted.
Process mapping for Information Management professionalsSimon Rawson
The document discusses process mapping for information management professionals. It provides an agenda for a presentation that includes an overview of process mapping approaches and examples. Examples of process mapping diagrams and process registers are also provided.
We’re announcing something YUGE (shh, it’s still a bit of a secret), and we want to share it with all of our friends! On July 26th, we’ll be revealing major changes (hint: it’s awesome) to our Records365 platform in a webinar, and we want to give you an exclusive look on these changes.
• Next-Generation Platform: An improved Records365 that is more user-friendly, extendable and useful for our customers. Get the rundown of everything you need to know.
• New Datacenters: We are launching new datacenters in the UK and Australia, in addition to our existing datacenter in the US.
• Extensible Connector Framework: Use the features you love in Records365 across multiple content services, including Box, Dropbox, G-Suite, Salesforce and more. Even better, it is easy to develop your own connector!
• RecordPoint Trust Center: You can now easily find information you need about our platform’s security and compliance.
This document discusses achieving content governance across collaborative and social business platforms. It begins by introducing content governance and the challenges of governing multiple target repositories, including traditional ECM, email, file shares, SharePoint, cloud ECM, and cloud file sharing. It then discusses different governance approaches like repository-based, content type-based, and lifecycle-based governance. It proposes a hybrid lifecycle model and "policy hub service" to help achieve governance across platforms in both on-premise and cloud environments. It concludes by questioning whether unified governance of SharePoint, email, and file shares provides full governance and how to best approach hybrid governance.

Brian Dirking Software Selection For Records Managementbdirking
The document discusses selecting records management software. It outlines key considerations like ensuring compliance, reducing costs through e-discovery and controlling information retention. The summary explores features needed like retention management, multi-schedule support, categorizing content and a single records management console. Implementing such a system could help with storage savings, restoration costs, discovery costs and litigation preparedness.
The growth and complexity of record keeping, the cost of current solutions and a dependency for staff to behave like records managers makes the implementation, deployment and realisation of the benefits of enterprise content management difficult, time consuming and expensive to achieve.
Seminar held in Auckland on 16 August and Wellington on 17 August.

10 Things You'll Need to Succeed with Information Governance and SharePointRecordLion
This educational presentation discusses not only Information Governance surrounding SharePoint Environments, but expanding beyond to other platforms in your organization.
This document summarizes a webinar on developing a SharePoint strategy. It provided an overview of SharePoint capabilities for collaboration, portals, enterprise search, content management, and business processes. It emphasized that simply deploying SharePoint without a strategy can result in disconnected information silos that are difficult to manage. The webinar outlined key steps to developing a SharePoint strategy, including defining processes and audiences, auditing content sources, creating use cases, and evaluating technology options. It stressed the importance of aligning any SharePoint deployment with organizational goals, processes, and information needs.
SharePoint 2013 Governance Planning - SharePoint governance is the set of policies, roles, responsibilities, and processes that guides, directs, and controls how an organization's business divisions and IT teams cooperate to achieve business goals.
The document discusses best practices for implementing Microsoft SharePoint 2010. It notes that 37% of organizations see SharePoint as their first major enterprise content management system. 44% rolled it out across 10 or more geographical sites. However, the document also states that many organizations implement SharePoint without proper consideration of governance, metadata, taxonomy or other important factors. The AIIM SharePoint Certificate Program aims to provide global best practices to help organizations successfully implement and manage SharePoint.
The document discusses AIIM's new SharePoint certificate program which is designed to provide best practices for implementing SharePoint 2010. It aims to address the need for guidance on how to implement SharePoint as a platform rather than just an out of the box application. The certificate program covers topics like assessment, transitioning, implementation, and sustaining a SharePoint environment through online and classroom courses at the practitioner, specialist and master levels.
SharePoint Records Management - Office 365InnoTech

It demonstrates how to set up content types, managed metadata, and information management policies for records management in SharePoint.
Presentation from 2011 about creating retention policies in SharePoint. Presented with Becky Bertram of Savvy Technical Solutions and Marty Hansen of Jordan Lawrence.
This webinar discusses how SharePoint administrators can ensure compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) using SPDocKit. The webinar agenda includes an introduction to GDPR and its core pillars, recommendations for how SharePoint can comply with GDPR, and specific action steps that can be taken using SPDocKit tools. These include tagging objects containing personal data, enforcing security rules and auditing settings, auditing permission changes, and using reports and permissions management to understand who has access to what data. A demo then shows SPDocKit features for these compliance tasks.
In the real world, "find-ability" is just as important as "put-ability" when building a well-structured ERMS. This session explores effective strategies for defining and capturing the critical metadata needed to drive RM-specific search scenarios.
SharePoint can support contract lifecycle management needs through its strong features. It provides a rich metadata structure to model complex contracts, supports workflow and security requirements, and allows integration with line of business systems. While SharePoint has powerful capabilities, its adoption can be accelerated or slowed depending on how well its flexibility is governed and how legacy systems are addressed. Overall, SharePoint is well-suited to serve as a highly scalable and secure repository for contract information management.

Enterprise Content Management (ECM) consists of technologies and tools used to capture, manage, store, preserve and deliver content across an organization. ECM promises to create order from chaos by reducing costs, improving quality, and promoting compliance through automated document routing, approval and control. To fully realize these benefits, ECM needs to scale to include 100% of users and content under management.

Webinar: Designing a schema for a Data WarehouseFederico Razzoli
Are you new to data warehouses (DWH)? Do you need to check whether your data warehouse follows the best practices for a good design? In both cases, this webinar is for you.
A data warehouse is a central relational database that contains all measurements about a business or an organisation. This data comes from a variety of heterogeneous data sources, which includes databases of any type that back the applications used by the company, data files exported by some applications, or APIs provided by internal or external services.
But designing a data warehouse correctly is a hard task, which requires gathering information about the business processes that need to be analysed in the first place. These processes must be translated into so-called star schemas, which means, denormalised databases where each table represents a dimension or facts.
We will discuss these topics:
- How to gather information about a business;
- Understanding dictionaries and how to identify business entities;
- Dimensions and facts;
- Setting a table granularity;
- Types of facts;
- Types of dimensions;
- Snowflakes and how to avoid them;
- Expanding existing dimensions and facts.
