I really like the way Drake made this
video, as it is a common storyline but
in a really interesting, creative way.
There is also intertextual references
here to do with ‘Batman’ as the actors
make-up Is like the joker’s.
The visuals show a
wedding, where the bride
runs away, and decides to
be with someone else, and
the lyrics are so there is a
relationship between the
lyrics and the visuals.
There are lots of close-ups
of Brendon Urie, lead
vocals.
I love the way, the band and actors make-up, hair and costumes are
done. The theme is circus like, which makes the video stand out, and
more enjoyable to watch. And again here are the intertextual
references.
Inspired Ideas…
• I love in this video how
the setting reflects the
lyrics of the song, and
there are also
intertextual references
here of the film
twilight, in Paramore’s
video, ‘Decode’. This is
something I would
think about doing in
my video relating to
the lyrics to the
visuals, and finding the
appropriate settings
etc to enable me to do
this.
