This document provides an analysis of the music video for "Leave Me Alone" by AJ Tracey. It discusses various elements of the video that adhere to conventions of the grime music genre. These include the use of dark lighting, urban settings, low camera angles, frequent cuts between shots, and visual references to elements of grime culture like expensive clothing brands. The analysis suggests applying these same genre conventions to create an effective music video that appropriately represents the grime style.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

AJ Tracey music video analysis
1. AJ Tracey – Leave Me
Alone
Analysis of music video
2. The writing to introduce the
artist is in a rigid and
individual form to suit the
grime genre. It also gives the
audience an impression of
the artist himself and this
almost forms a logo for
himself. This shows that he’s
a renounced artists of the
grime world.
This introductory shot shows
the audience the genre of
the music. The group of
young adults all in tracksuits
and the dark lighting of the
shot all have connotations of
the grime genre.
3. Small cuts of different clips
establish where the video is
being shot. This is effectively
the establishing shot of the
music video. This is common
in grime music videos and
should be a convention for my
product.
Ladbroke Grove Station is
west London, which has
specific relevance to AJ Tracey
as this is where he was born.
Relating this to my video, it
would be a good idea for me
to show some indication
about how where my video is
being shot or somewhere that
has specific relevance to
myself. This would fit the
grime genre conventions.
4. The start of the song is sung
by the artist to give the
audience an impression of
how he conducts himself and
to show who is the main artist
of the song. This is common
for the main artist to sing the
first verse of the song as it
gives context of the song –
this could include where they
are, how they display
themselves as artists and
their culture.
This shot is a slightly low
angle shot. This is common
for grime videos. This is
because grime artist want to
be portrayed as the best or
most powerful artists in the
industry. It is the most
common shot in most grime
music videos and this should
be applied to my music video.
5. Minor effects on the video
can be effective to quickly
relate to the lyrics. In this
video, most of the drawings
that appear on the screen
have connotations related to
the grime genre. Money,
smoke coming out of the
mouth, representation of
calls for deals etcetera.
Throughout the video, the
same lighting is used and the
same urban theme is applied
to each shot.
This shot is an eye-level shot
and he takes up the majority
of the picture so it is also a
med-shot. This is a regular
shot type used in this video.
6. This shot is cut from the urban
shots in London to a concert
where AJ Tracey hosted one of
these songs. This would be
difficult for me to do but this
does have connotations of the
grime genre. This is because he
is shown to be popular and
noticed as on of the most
renowned artists.
The lighting has changed from
the previous, urban shots but it
is still dark and furthermore,
following the grime
conventions.
7. Another low angle shot that
continuously suggests that AJ
Tracey has power in the music
video.
Very low lighting continues to
show a dark and gang-life
representation that they all come
out into the night rather than the
day.
Costumes – the coat that AJ
Tracey is wearing is particularly
renowned as being an expensive
brand, but relates to the grime
genre as it isn’t a brand like
Swarovski. Puma/Bape is a famous
collaboration for grime and trap
music.
This shot could also be a
representation of black culture in
urban societies.
8. This shot is part of several cuts
that all show elements of the
grime genre.
This shot could represent the
urban society and how young
adults struggle for money due
to their low social class. This
could be why they’re on the
push bike.
Minor editing is still prominent
but there are noticeably more
cuts to different shots as the
song gets faster.
The urban culture, the dark
lighting and progressively
more editing is used
throughout the video to
sustain genre focus.
9. As the video goes on, more
shots and edits are being
introduced into the product. I
should apply this to my music
vidoes by continuously referring
to the same shot with different
cuts and introduce new shots
as the song builds.
The dark lighting with the
bright light is effective in this
shot but also the props in the
shot are significant in the grime
world.
Moet, the wine bottle shown in
the shot, is mentioned very
regularly in grime songs and is a
drink grime artists will drink
usually as well as drugs
however drugs, apart from
weed, is not often shown in
music videos.
10. This shot is a simple but effective
edit as it is only an effect of
inverted colours but it is used as a
transactional shot to cut to
another clip of AJ Tracey in the
video.
This shot still has the dark lighting
which continues to represent
grime. The hand is a common
gesture used by grime artists when
dancing but it is most significant to
AJ Tracey.
11. A clean and well established set of
shoes is a common part of the
grime genre. The minor editing on
the shoes also shows that these
are a particularly nice pair of
trainers.
They have also done this for
endorsements. AJ Tracey is
wearing a Puma trackuit, A very
expense Puma/Bape coat and he
is wearing the puma shoes. This is
a form of endorsement.
This is one of the last shots of the
song. The final cuts are slow, black
out transactions to the concert as
the song dies down. This is a good
way to end the music video and
should be applied to my music
video.
