HARD (Human Action for Rural Development) is an NGO that has been registered since 1985 and works in 75 villages across Medak and Khammam districts of Andhra Pradesh. It currently has 125 self-help groups (SHGs) with 1875 total members who have accumulated thrift savings of 11.25 lakh rupees. The SHGs are linked to several banks and receive loans and grants totaling 35.45 lakh rupees. The objective of HARD is the comprehensive development of SHGs through economic, emotional, health, educational, and recreational growth.
