This document discusses using human-centered design approaches to solve "wicked problems." It begins with an introduction and outlines of the topics to be covered, including an overview of human-centered design principles and what constitutes a wicked problem. The presenter then discusses available human-centered design tools and frameworks. As a case study, the document examines a problem with the nutrition of senior citizens in Denmark who rely on government-sponsored meals. Through empathizing with stakeholders like kitchen staff and seniors, insights were uncovered that led to new ideas prototyped and tested, such as changing kitchen staff uniforms and the name of the program.
