6. Human Papillomavirus (HPV)
HPV is so common that almost all sexually active men
and woman get it at some point in their lives
HPV could take years for someone to notice they have
it.
It usually goes away, but if it doesn’t it causes genital
warts or cancer.
HPV can cause cancers in the vagina, penis, and anus.
You can get vaccines at the ages 11 and 12 and is
recommended to get another one at age 21.

A bacteria that is passed through sexual contact
About 3 million men and women get this disease every
year
Usually Chlamydia has no symptoms, but if there is it can
happen within 5 to 10 days of sexual contact
Since there is usually no symptoms, it can cause Pelvic
Inflammatory Disease that may cause women to be
unable to get pregnant
It can easily be treated by taking antibiotics
8. Gonorrhea
It is caused by the bacterium Neisseria gonorrhoeae
It doesn’t only infect your vaginal or urethra but it can
infect your eyes, throat or anus
Symptoms usually occur from 2 to 14 days after sexual
contact
It has a more noticeable symptom in men then women,
If a man has gonorrhea when they urinated there would
be a very painful feeling
To treat this disease you have to take an antibiotic but it
doesn’t always work
