10Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his
mighty power. 11Put on the full armor of
God so that you can take your stand
against the devil's schemes. 12For our
struggle is not against flesh and blood,
but against the rulers, against the
authorities, against the powers of this
dark world and against the spiritual
forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

22And God placed all things under
*Jesus’+ feet and appointed him to be
head over everything for the church,
23which is his body, the fullness of him
who fills everything in every way.
11 The word of the LORD came to me: 12
"Son of man, take up a lament concerning
the king of Tyre and say to him: 'This is
what the Sovereign LORD says:
" 'You were the model of perfection,
full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.
13 You were in Eden, the garden of God;
every precious stone adorned you:
14 You were anointed as a guardian
cherub, for so I ordained you.
You were on the holy mount of God;
you walked among the fiery stones.
15 You were blameless in your ways from
the day you were created till wickedness
was found in you.
16 Through your widespread trade you
were filled with violence, and you sinned.
So I drove you in disgrace from the mount
of God, and I expelled you, O guardian
cherub, from among the fiery stones.
17 Your heart became proud on account
of your beauty, and you corrupted your
wisdom because of your splendor.
So I threw you to the earth;
I made a spectacle of you before kings.
18 By your many sins and dishonest trade
you have desecrated your sanctuaries.
So I made a fire come out from you, and it
consumed you, and I reduced you to
ashes on the ground in the sight of all
who were watching. 19 All the nations
who knew you are appalled at you;
you have come to a horrible end
and will be no more.' "
3Then another sign appeared in heaven:
an enormous red dragon with seven
heads and ten horns and seven crowns on
his heads. 4His tail swept a third of the
stars out of the sky and flung them to the
earth.
9The great dragon was hurled down—
that ancient serpent called the devil, or
Satan, who leads the whole world astray.
He was hurled to the earth, and his
angels with him.
But woe to the earth and the sea,
because the devil has gone down to
you! He is filled with fury, because he
knows that his time is short.”
8Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy
the devil prowls around like a roaring lion
looking for someone to devour.
10The thief comes only to steal and kill
and destroy; I have come that they may
have life, and have it to the full.
14Since the children(the people of the
world) have flesh and blood, (Jesus) too
shared in their humanity so that by his
death he might destroy him who holds
the power of death—that is, the devil—
15and free those who all their lives were
held in slavery by their fear of death.

19We know that we are children of God,
and that the whole world is under the
control of the evil one.

Allow God to strengthen you continually
That power is like the working of his mighty
strength, 20which he exerted in Christ when he
raised him from the dead and seated him at
his right hand in the heavenly realms, 21far
above all rule and authority, power and
dominion, and every title that can be given,
not only in the present age but also in the one
to come.
1As for you, you were dead in your
transgressions and sins, 2in which you
used to live when you followed the
ways of this world and of the ruler of
the kingdom of the air, the spirit who
is now at work in those who are
disobedient.
3All of us also lived among them at one
time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful
nature and following its desires and
thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature
objects of wrath. 4But because of his
great love for us, God, who is rich in
mercy, 5made us alive with Christ even
when we were dead in transgressions—it
is by grace you have been saved.
6And God raised us up with Christ and
seated us with him in the heavenly realms
in Christ Jesus, 7in order that in the
coming ages he might show the
incomparable riches of his grace,
expressed in his kindness to us in Christ
Jesus. 8For it is by grace you have been
saved, through faith—and this not from
yourselves, it is the gift of God.
10(God’s) intent was that now, through
the church, the manifold wisdom of God
should be made known to the rulers and
authorities in the heavenly realms,
11according to his eternal purpose which
he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.
12In him and through faith in him we may
approach God with freedom and
confidence.
