This document contains warnings against false teachings that deceive people and lead them away from God. It encourages believers to stand firm in their faith and not be swayed by philosophies or traditions that contradict Christian truth. It also describes a powerful political/religious entity that persecutes believers and promotes worship of itself instead of God. This entity will be destroyed by God for its actions. The document promotes maintaining pure faith and devotion to God alone.

God intended for the Jews to live in the land he promised them. The problem is: this land was already occupied by other people. In telling the Jews to “take” the land, did God command genocide or ethnic cleansing? This is a difficult and often misunderstood part of the Old Testament history. How can a God of love be responsible for wiping out “innocent” people, for the sake of his own…or were they innocent?

Do you feel that some sins in your past or present are so terrible that they can’t be forgiven or that you are unwor-thy to serve God? How does Rahab’s story encourage you? What was the emotional state of the people in Jericho? (Josh. 2:9, 11; 6:1) How did this confirm God’s promises in Deut. l:21, 29–31? Read carefully Joshua 2:9–13. What did Rahab know about Israel's history? How long before had the Red Sea been crossed? (Ex. l4). How long before had Sihon and Og been conquered? (Deut. 2:26-3:11) What did Rahab specifically say she believed about the God of Israel? What is impressive about her faith? Could anyone else in Jericho have come to the same conclusions? Why didn't they? How is grace key to understanding Joshua 2? These and other questions are addressed in this study in Joshua.

The Need for Godly Men Pt 1 | Cascades Bible ChurchBrent Small
In this sermon podcast on Titus 1:5, Pastor Brent establishes three “pastoral directives” as delivered by Paul to Titus that enable the local church to develop godly leadership.
After visiting the churches on the island of Crete, Paul left behind his ministry partner Titus to further develop these young churches. Paul assigned Titus the task of establishing sound doctrine and godly living in the churches so that they would then possess credible Christian testimonies.
If this mission was to be accomplished Titus had much work to do. In fact Paul tells Titus that he must correct what was lacking, namely, godly leadership. Titus, himself, was to instruct the churches in sound doctrine, model behavior that was in accordance with that doctrine and appoint godly men who could do the same.
The need of the church on Crete was godly men. The need of the local church today is godly men. In this message, Pastor Brent begins a short mini-series on the need for godly men to lead the local church by establishing three “pastoral perspectives” given to Titus by Paul.
Romans 9 is one of the most commonly used proof-texts to support the Calvinistic concept of unconditional election. This presentation briefly examines the arguments made from the text and answers them, vindicating the Bible concept of human free will.
Spiritual discouragement is a pitfall that everyone must escape at various points in his or her life. Even if not depressed, we may become disheartened into inaction or ineffectiveness. Study the Bible account of God patiently dealing with Elijah's despair and helping him to overcome. By learning from this example, we can with renewed vigor tackle the challenges that we face.
World Religion - EndTime Magazine - May/June 2015miscott57
It is prophesied that, just before the Second Coming, a one-world religion will be established, demanding the allegiance of every person on earth. Unbeknownst
to many, the formation of this entity has been in the works for years, with great strides taken over the last several months.
It will be a false religion of which true Christians will never want to be a part.
The Book of Zephaniah is the ninth of the Twelve Minor Prophets of the Old Testament and Tanakh, preceded by the Book of Habakkuk and followed by the Book of Haggai. Zephaniah means "Yahweh has hidden/protected," or "Yahweh hides".
The First Epistle of Clement is a letter addressed to the Christians in the city of Corinth. Based on internal evidence some scholars say the letter was composed some time before AD 70, but the common time given for the epistle's composition is at the end of the reign of Domitian (c. AD 96). It ranks with Didache as one of the earliest, if not the earliest, of extant Christian documents outside the traditional New Testament canon. As the name suggests, a Second Epistle of Clement is known, but this is a later work by a different author. Part of the Apostolic Fathers collection, 1 and 2 Clement are not usually considered to be part of the canonical New Testament.
The Book of Habakkuk is the eighth book of the 12 minor prophets of the Bible. It is attributed to the prophet Habakkuk, and was probably composed in the late 7th century BC. The original text was written in the Hebrew language.
The Book of Sirach or Ecclesiasticus is a Jewish work, originally written in Hebrew. It consists of ethical teachings, from approximately 200 to 175 BCE, written by the Judahite scribe Ben Sira of Jerusalem, on the inspiration of his father Joshua son of Sirach. Joshua is sometimes called Jesus son of Sirach or Yeshua ben Eliezer ben Sira.
The seventh son of Jacob and Bilhah. The jealous one. He counsels against anger saying that "it giveth peculiar vision." This is a notable thesis on anger.

The Epistle to Titus is one of the three pastoral epistles in the New Testament, historically attributed to Paul the Apostle. It is addressed to Saint Titus and describes the requirements and duties of presbyters/bishops.
The Epistle of Polycarp to the Philippians is an epistle attributed to Polycarp, an early bishop of Smyrna, and addressed to the early Christian church in Philippi.
Put On Righteousness - Ephesians 6:14bDavid Turner
We cannot clothe ourselves in our personal righteousness, because any righteousness we have in ourselves falls short of God's standard of righteousness. Instead, we must shield our hearts with the righteousness of Christ. We are declared righteous because of his righteousness, not because of anything in ourselves. Take up the helmet of salvation eph 6 17aDavid Turner
The head is the location of our thoughts and memories. We must protect our minds by putting on the helmet of salvation. The mind cannot be transformed without Christ becoming the center of our thoughts. The transformation saves us from the vane belief systems and ethical impure thoughts of the world. Put on Christ and put on the helmet of salvation. Free PowerPoint Download at http://bibleguy.org/sermon-resources/powerpoints/886/06/17/

Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.
2. 18 Let no one deceive himself. If anyone
among you seems to be wise in this age,
let him become a fool that he may become
wise.
3. 19 For the wisdom of this world is
foolishness with God. For it is written, “He
catches the wise in their own craftiness”;
4. 20 and again, “The Lord knows the
thoughts of the wise, that they are futile.”
5. 21 Therefore lay aside all filthiness and
overflow of wickedness, and receive with
meekness the implanted word, which is
able to save your souls.
6. 22 But be doers of the word, and not
hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For
if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a
doer, he is like a man observing his natural
face in a mirror;
7. 24 for he observes himself, goes away, and
immediately forgets what kind of man he
was.
8. 25 But he who looks into the perfect law of
liberty and continues in it, and is not a
forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this
one will be blessed in what he does.
9. 26 If anyone among you thinks he is
religious, and does not bridle his tongue
but deceives his own heart, this one’s
religion is useless.
10. 27 Pure and undefiled religion before God
and the Father is this: to visit orphans and
widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself
unspotted from the world.
11. 12 Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of
you an evil heart of unbelief in departing
from the living God; 13 but exhort one
another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest
any of you be hardened through the
deceitfulness of sin.
12. 1 Therefore be imitators of God as dear
children. 2 And walk in love, as Christ also
has loved us and given Himself for us, an
offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-
smelling aroma.
13. 3 But fornication and all uncleanness or
covetousness, let it not even be named
among you, as is fitting for saints;
14. 4 neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor
coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but
rather giving of thanks.
15. 5 For this you know, that no fornicator,
unclean person, nor covetous man, who is
an idolater, has any inheritance in the
kingdom of Christ and God.
16. 6 Let no one deceive you with empty
words, for because of these things the
wrath of God comes upon the sons of
disobedience. 7 Therefore do not be
partakers with them.
17. 8 Beware lest anyone cheat you through
philosophy and empty deceit, according to
the tradition of men, according to the basic
principles of the world, and not according to
Christ.
18. 9 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the
Godhead bodily; 10 and you are complete
in Him, who is the head of all principality
and power.
19. 17 Now I urge you, brethren, note those
who cause divisions and offenses, contrary
to the doctrine which you learned, and
avoid them.
20. 18 For those who are such do not serve
our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly,
and by smooth words and flattering speech
deceive the hearts of the simple.
21. 6 Now godliness with contentment is great
gain. 7 For we brought nothing into this
world, and it is certain we can carry nothing
out.
22. 8 And having food and clothing, with these
we shall be content.
23. 9 But those who desire to be rich fall into
temptation and a snare, and into many
foolish and harmful lusts which drown men
in destruction and perdition.
24. 10 For the love of money is a root of all
kinds of evil, for which some have strayed
from the faith in their greediness, and
pierced themselves through with many
sorrows.
25. 11 But you, O man of God, flee these
things and pursue righteousness,
godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness.
26. 1 Now, brethren, concerning the coming of
our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering
together to Him, we ask you,
27. 2 not to be soon shaken in mind or
troubled, either by spirit or by word or by
letter, as if from us, as though the day of
Christ had come.
28. 3 Let no one deceive you by any means;
for that Day will not come unless the falling
away comes first, and the man of sin is
revealed, the son of perdition,
29. 4 who opposes and exalts himself above all
that is called God or that is worshiped, so
that he sits as God in the temple of God,
showing himself that he is God.
30. 5 Do you not remember that when I was
still with you I told you these things? 6 And
now you know what is restraining, that he
may be revealed in his own time.
31. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already
at work; only He who now restrains will do
so until He is taken out of the way.
32. 8 And then the lawless one will be
revealed, whom the Lord will consume with
the breath of His mouth and destroy with
the brightness of His coming.
33. 9 The coming of the lawless one is
according to the working of Satan, with all
power, signs, and lying wonders,
34. 10 and with all unrighteous deception
among those who perish, because they did
not receive the love of the truth, that they
might be saved.
35. 11 And for this reason God will send them
strong delusion, that they should believe
the lie, 12 that they all may be condemned
who did not believe the truth but had
pleasure in unrighteousness.
36. 1 Then I stood on the sand of the sea. And
I saw a beast rising up out of the sea,
having seven heads and ten horns, and on
his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a
blasphemous name.
37. 2 Now the beast which I saw was like a
leopard, his feet were like the feet of a
bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a
lion. The dragon gave him his power, his
throne, and great authority.
38. 3 And I saw one of his heads as if it had
been mortally wounded, and his deadly
wound was healed. And all the world
marveled and followed the beast.
39. 4 So they worshiped the dragon who gave
authority to the beast; and they worshiped
the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast?
Who is able to make war with him?”
40. 5 And he was given a mouth speaking
great things and blasphemies, and he was
given authority to continue for forty-two
months.
41. 6 Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy
against God, to blaspheme His name, His
tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven.
42. 7 It was granted to him to make war with
the saints and to overcome them. And
authority was given him over every tribe,
tongue, and nation.
43. 8 All who dwell on the earth will worship
him, whose names have not been written in
the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the
foundation of the world.
44. 9 If anyone has an ear, let him hear. 10 He
who leads into captivity shall go into
captivity; he who kills with the sword must
be killed with the sword. Here is the
patience and the faith of the saints.
45. 11 Then I saw another beast coming up out
of the earth, and he had two horns like a
lamb and spoke like a dragon.
46. 12 And he exercises all the authority of the
first beast in his presence, and causes the
earth and those who dwell in it to worship
the first beast, whose deadly wound was
healed.
47. 13 He performs great signs, so that he
even makes fire come down from heaven
on the earth in the sight of men.
48. 14 And he deceives those who dwell on the
earth by those signs which he was granted
to do in the sight of the beast, telling those
who dwell on the earth to make an image
to the beast who was wounded by the
sword and lived.
49. 15 He was granted power to give breath to
the image of the beast, that the image of
the beast should both speak and cause as
many as would not worship the image of
the beast to be killed.
50. 24 For false christs and false prophets will
rise and show great signs and wonders to
deceive, if possible, even the elect.
51. 16 He causes all, both small and great, rich
and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark
on their right hand or on their foreheads,
52. 17 and that no one may buy or sell except
one who has the mark or the name of the
beast, or the number of his name.
53. 18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has
understanding calculate the number of the
beast, for it is the number of a man: His
number is 666.
54. 1 After these things I saw another angel
coming down from heaven, having great
authority, and the earth was illuminated
with his glory.
55. 2 And he cried mightily with a loud voice,
saying, “Babylon the great is fallen, is
fallen, and has become a dwelling place of
demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a
cage for every unclean and hated bird!
56. 3 For all the nations have drunk of the wine
of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of
the earth have committed fornication with
her, and the merchants of the earth have
become rich through the abundance of her
luxury.”
57. 4 And I heard another voice from heaven
saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest
you share in her sins, and lest you receive
of her plagues.
58. 5 For her sins have reached to heaven,
and God has remembered her iniquities.
59. 6 Render to her just as she rendered to
you, and repay her double according to her
works; in the cup which she has mixed, mix
double for her.
60. 7 In the measure that she glorified herself
and lived luxuriously, in the same measure
give her torment and sorrow; for she says
in her heart, ‘I sit as queen, and am no
widow, and will not see sorrow.’
61. 8 Therefore her plagues will come in one
day—death and mourning and famine. And
she will be utterly burned with fire, for
strong is the Lord God who judges her.
62. 9 “The kings of the earth who committed
fornication and lived luxuriously with her
will weep and lament for her, when they
see the smoke of her burning,
63. 10 standing at a distance for fear of her
torment, saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city
Babylon, that mighty city! For in one hour
your judgment has come.’
64. 11 “And the merchants of the earth will
weep and mourn over her, for no one buys
their merchandise anymore:
65. 12 merchandise of gold and silver, precious
stones and pearls, fine linen and purple,
silk and scarlet, every kind of citron wood,
every kind of object of ivory, every kind of
object of most precious wood, bronze, iron,
and marble;
66. 13 and cinnamon and incense, fragrant oil
and frankincense, wine and oil, fine flour
and wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and
chariots, and bodies and souls of men.
67. 14 The fruit that your soul longed for has
gone from you, and all the things which are
rich and splendid have gone from you, and
you shall find them no more at all.
68. 15 The merchants of these things, who
became rich by her, will stand at a distance
for fear of her torment, weeping and
wailing,
69. 16 and saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city
that was clothed in fine linen, purple, and
scarlet, and adorned with gold and
precious stones and pearls!
70. 17 For in one hour such great riches came
to nothing.’ Every shipmaster, all who travel
by ship, sailors, and as many as trade on
the sea, stood at a distance
71. 18 and cried out when they saw the smoke
of her burning, saying, ‘What is like this
great city?’
72. 19 “They threw dust on their heads and
cried out, weeping and wailing, and saying,
‘Alas, alas, that great city, in which all who
had ships on the sea became rich by her
wealth! For in one hour she is made
desolate.’
73. 20 “Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you
holy apostles and prophets, for God has
avenged you on her!”
