• Here are some tips to know whether it’s a
sentence or a fragment.
• A sentence must:
• express a complete thought
• Have a predicate and a subject (at least one)
• Follow punctuation
• Ex: I went to the vet.
5. Subjects and predicates
• Subject: tells what the sentence is about.
• Predicate: tells what the subject does, has, is
or feels.
• Ex: I was really sick yesterday
