 Teachers shape the next generation of citizens
 Teaching is the profession that creates all other

 the new education policy must help reestablish
teachers at all levels as the most respected and
essential members of our society
 It must do everything to empower teachers
 NEP 2020 must make provisions for attracting the very
best and brightest to enter the teaching profession at
all levels
Concept of
teacher
education
“a program of education , research and training of persons to
teach from pre-primary to higher education level” – NCTE
Teacher education refers to the policies and procedures
designed to equip prospective teachers with the knowledge ,
attitude , behaviors and skills they require to perform their task
effectively in the classroom , school and wider community
Teacher preparation is an activity requiring multidisciplinary
perspective and knowledge , formation of dispositions and
values , development of practice under the best mentors .

the subjects of PhD scholars along with real teaching experiences.
 CPD for in service teachers by workshops and online platforms like
SWAYAM/DIKSHA.
 Certificate courses for preservice and in service teachers ,full or part time
/blended course in special education for the regular teachers.
Suggestions for improvement of teacher education
SURPRISE VISITS OR INSPECTIONS BY MONITORING AGENCIES FOR
PROPER FUNCTIONING OF INSTITUTIONAL ACTIVITIES
TEACHERS NEED MOTIVATION TO IMPART BETTER QUALITY
EDUCATION AND A DECENT SALARY MAY WORK AS MOTIVATING
FACTOR FOR TEACHERS.
conclusion
 Its time for Indian teachers to seize this opportunity and become the
makers of their own destiny
 To work hard to achieve their dreams,
 Gain insights also from the thoughts, beliefs, experiences of their peer
practitioners
 Finding inner power and restoration of high respect and status to this
