The document summarizes a study on the motivation and perception of women library professionals in India. The study used a survey questionnaire to collect data from 52 women library professionals. It found that most women held the role of librarian in academic institutions and were empowered with knowledge and leadership skills. However, they were only somewhat satisfied with motivational factors like compensation. The women were enthusiastic about professional development and keeping up with trends in the library and information science field. Most had obtained their M.L.I.Sc degree, the standard degree for the profession.

 to indentify the promoting & inhibiting factor in the empowerment of women library
professionals
 to explore the reasons how the productivity of women library professionals can be
enhanced

4. Research Methodology
 A survey research method and questionnaire as a means of data collection method
was used.
 A convenience sampling procedure was used and altogether 52 respondents
responded to the questionnaire.
 Data collected from the questionnaires were comprehensively analyzed and
interpreted using the descriptive statistical analysis method

5. Findings
 Maximum number of women library professionals were designated as librarian in the
academic institutions and were empowered with the knowledge level, awareness,
level of self-esteem and leadership qualities.
 Women library professionals were satisfied with their job but not fully satisfied with
regards to the motivational factors.
 Women library professionals were enthusiastically involved in professional
awareness and development and explored new trends and current challenges in LIS
field.
 Respondents obtained M.L.I.Sc degree since their recruitment.
