Self-evaluation
Pre- production
What Went Well
During the time of the pre-production I was sure to organise my group to keep them on
track ensuring we didn’t fall behind from me having good communication and managerial
skills throughout. An example would have been giving each person to two people a task to
complete at a time whether it be the budget or story board, and also giving a deadline for it
to be completed by. By doing this we were able to finish our work on time. I also decided to
assign one person to do the story board leaving the rest of the group to the other tasks,
making sure they were complete so if someone was falling behind, I could help them and we
would all be able to work together as a team. I also checked over tasks to ensure my group
had done the work to the best of their ability and made a good amount of effort. When all
the pre-production tasks had been assessed by each other, made it easier for the group
throughout the production and post-production, letting us complete tasks quickly.
Improvements
One thing I could have improved on, and also my group, would have been leaving more time
to re-evaluate the tasks we had completed and making more changes to improve the quality
of the tasks and also not add to any pressure and stress caused for if we were a little behind
in delivering the task to the deadline required. This could have been avoided if I was stricter
on group members into doing the work in the lessons we were together and tried not to
make time for breaks or discussing time as we were under a time limit. Another thing is also,
from when some people were falling behind slightly with their assigned tasks, made other
people rush their work in order to help their peer causing an un-fair workload on some
people which at some points, caused stress and caused some arguments. But if I would have
been forward in telling people that they need to only concentrate on their task assigned to
them at that time, it would have saved any arguments and everyone would have got equal
credit with no one losing out on any extra work going unrecognised.

Production
What Went Well
Whilst filming the music video, I made sure everyone in my group had an equal part to play
and always stayed on task, as sometimes they could go off topic, an example would be by
setting up the camera and tripod or making sure the set was perfectly matched to how we
had planned previously. This way, when produced, the music video would be up to
standard. i found that teamwork played an important part in the production as one person
already had experience with filming, so they were keen to help the rest of us out so that
everyone would gain experience with how to shoot different angles and shot types which
meant that everyone in the group was able to feature in the music video.
Improvements
Some improvements could have been made with the production though, as our filming
schedule was a bit rushed at times as we had to go to various locations and the travelling
was quite time consuming which meant we had to often re-schedule to film certain parts or
scenes again at another date which tended to slow the production of the video down at
times. another improvement was that we could have added more shot types as we realised
whilst editing. Due to the lack of different shots in some scenes we filmed led to us having
to zoom in to create a close up for some parts of the video and this made the quality not as
good making the video not look as professional as we originally planned. Also in our video
we had to filmsome parts when it was quite dark outside but in some shots the scene was
too dark making the quality of that part not so clear as it was hard to see and sometimes
caused the shot to go fuzzy loosing quality again. This could have been avoided by re-filming
these shots and also by adding more shot types for more variety on shots and better quality
when editing everything.

What Went Well
When my group was ready to edit, i assigned each member a specific date and time for
when we should meet up and edit the video and made sure we kept on track so we had
time at the end and in between to correct anything to make the video look better and also
time to re-evaluate everything and make sure everyone is happy with the end result. I also
made sure that everyone in the group had a chance to edit so they were also able to get
experienced with how to edit as well and also so it was equal for everyone to claim fair
credit and not for one person to be stuck editing the whole time. Whilst we took it in turns
to edit, the other group members were able to asses every section making sure the amount
of mistakes made was at a minimum keeping the work moving forward as quickly as
possible.
Improvements
Some improvements that could have been made were keeping a closer eye out for
continuity as at first some shots didn’t match which meant we had to decide to delete them
and re-cut the other shots on the beat again avoiding any unwanted gaps in the video. The
problem with this was that it went unnoticed until late in editing meaning it was too late to
re-film some scenes causing the video to not look as professional as we would have liked.
This could have been avoided by myself keeping a closer eye out for continuity whilst still
filming by re-watching anything we filmed at a time, even though this would have taken up
more time at least we would have been able to edit without as many problems and would
have helped with the quality of the video but the video seemed to come together well in the
end.

Laura HodgsonUnits 1, 16, 29 Self-evaluation Pre- production What Went Well During the time of the pre-production I was sure to organise my group to keep them on track ensuring we didn’t fall behind from me having good communication and managerial skills throughout. An example would have been giving each person to two people a task to complete at a time whether it be the budget or story board, and also giving a deadline for it to be completed by. By doing this we were able to finish our work on time. I also decided to assign one person to do the story board leaving the rest of the group to the other tasks, making sure they were complete so if someone was falling behind, I could help them and we would all be able to work together as a team. I also checked over tasks to ensure my group had done the work to the best of their ability and made a good amount of effort. When all the pre-production tasks had been assessed by each other, made it easier for the group throughout the production and post-production, letting us complete tasks quickly. Improvements One thing I could have improved on, and also my group, would have been leaving more time to re-evaluate the tasks we had completed and making more changes to improve the quality of the tasks and also not add to any pressure and stress caused for if we were a little behind in delivering the task to the deadline required. This could have been avoided if I was stricter on group members into doing the work in the lessons we were together and tried not to make time for breaks or discussing time as we were under a time limit. Another thing is also, from when some people were falling behind slightly with their assigned tasks, made other people rush their work in order to help their peer causing an un-fair workload on some people which at some points, caused stress and caused some arguments. But if I would have been forward in telling people that they need to only concentrate on their task assigned to them at that time, it would have saved any arguments and everyone would have got equal credit with no one losing out on any extra work going unrecognised.

Laura HodgsonUnits 1, 16, 29 Production What Went Well Whilst filming the music video, I made sure everyone in my group had an equal part to play and always stayed on task, as sometimes they could go off topic, an example would be by setting up the camera and tripod or making sure the set was perfectly matched to how we had planned previously. This way, when produced, the music video would be up to standard. i found that teamwork played an important part in the production as one person already had experience with filming, so they were keen to help the rest of us out so that everyone would gain experience with how to shoot different angles and shot types which meant that everyone in the group was able to feature in the music video. Improvements Some improvements could have been made with the production though, as our filming schedule was a bit rushed at times as we had to go to various locations and the travelling was quite time consuming which meant we had to often re-schedule to film certain parts or scenes again at another date which tended to slow the production of the video down at times. another improvement was that we could have added more shot types as we realised whilst editing. Due to the lack of different shots in some scenes we filmed led to us having to zoom in to create a close up for some parts of the video and this made the quality not as good making the video not look as professional as we originally planned. Also in our video we had to filmsome parts when it was quite dark outside but in some shots the scene was too dark making the quality of that part not so clear as it was hard to see and sometimes caused the shot to go fuzzy loosing quality again. This could have been avoided by re-filming these shots and also by adding more shot types for more variety on shots and better quality when editing everything. Post-production

Laura HodgsonUnits 1, 16, 29 What Went Well When my group was ready to edit, i assigned each member a specific date and time for when we should meet up and edit the video and made sure we kept on track so we had time at the end and in between to correct anything to make the video look better and also time to re-evaluate everything and make sure everyone is happy with the end result. I also made sure that everyone in the group had a chance to edit so they were also able to get experienced with how to edit as well and also so it was equal for everyone to claim fair credit and not for one person to be stuck editing the whole time. Whilst we took it in turns to edit, the other group members were able to asses every section making sure the amount of mistakes made was at a minimum keeping the work moving forward as quickly as possible. Improvements Some improvements that could have been made were keeping a closer eye out for continuity as at first some shots didn’t match which meant we had to decide to delete them and re-cut the other shots on the beat again avoiding any unwanted gaps in the video. The problem with this was that it went unnoticed until late in editing meaning it was too late to re-film some scenes causing the video to not look as professional as we would have liked. This could have been avoided by myself keeping a closer eye out for continuity whilst still filming by re-watching anything we filmed at a time, even though this would have taken up more time at least we would have been able to edit without as many problems and would have helped with the quality of the video but the video seemed to come together well in the end.
