  • #6 A tachometer (revolution-counter, tach, rev-counter, RPM gauge) is an instrument measuring the rotation speed of a shaft or disk, as in a motor or other machine. An altimeter or an altitude meter is an instrument used to measure the altitude of an object above a fixed level. A gyroscope is a device for measuring or maintaining orientation, based on the principles of angular momentum. Radar is an object detection system which uses radio- or micro- waves to determine the range, altitude, direction, or speed of objects. Lidar :is a remote sensing technology that measures distance by illuminating a target with a laser and analyzing the reflected light.
