This document introduces podcasts and Web 2.0 technologies that can provide students additional opportunities to practice world languages outside the classroom. It defines podcasts as downloadable audio files that can be listened to on various devices. It then discusses several free Web 2.0 tools such as Audioboo for audio recording, YouTube and Xtranormal for video creation, Tumblr and Facebook for social networking, and Twitter for microblogging that allow students to engage with language in an authentic way. It concludes by asking if the reader has any other questions.
