An internet based tool that searches an index of documents a particular term, phrase or text specified by the user. Commonly used to refer to large web-based search engines that search through billion of pages on the internet .
ON Page Optimization is a technique of SEO in which we done on the pages of the website
OFF Page Optimization is a technique of SEO in which we covers activity that takes place else where(e.g. Link building )outside the website.

As the Internet started to grow and became an integral part of day-to-day work, it became almost impossible for a user to fetch the exact or relevant information from such a huge web.

particular query. No search engine reveals exactly how its
algorithm works, to protect itself both from competitors
and from those who wish to spam the search engine.

server that the page is a good match for specific keywords

guaranteed to be spidered and included in a search
engine's index in exchange for payment.

engines as a synonym for pay-per-click. It stresses to

CPM-based ads, where ads cost money even if no-one
clicks on them.

appear in response to particular search terms, with higher
rankings typically obtained by paying more than other
advertisers.
