The AIDS Community India has grown significantly since its inception in 2005. By October 2005, membership had risen to over 4,000 people and there had been over 2,500 responses to Solution Exchange action groups. The community has established several action groups and consolidated replies to address key issues. It has also worked to reduce stigma and promote universal access to treatment in accordance with India's National AIDS Policy. The community strives to translate its objectives of knowledge sharing and collective action into activities and initiatives to advance the AIDS response in India.
