Their services include responsive website design, abstract management, registration, and more to support societies' goals.
As the founder and main worker bee at Rhema Association Management, I have always had to push the boundaries of information technology to do more with less. Back in the mid 1990’s it took a team of four full time worker bees to manage all the details of a handful of growing international societies, their annual meetings, journal subscriptions, membership applications and dues renewals. With today’s advances in information technology all that and more can be efficiently & effectively handled through a well featured Virtual Office and someone who knows how to choose and use the best technology for the job at hand. Over the past 25 years I’ve welcomed the technological changes that have helped to streamline Association Management.

The Future is already here and evenly distributed among the global members of the Change Agents Worldwide (CAWW) network. This half-day workshop shared their secrets: how they work, their values, how they adopt/adapt/exapt new ways of working with their global team. A team of Change Agents discuss leading organizational concepts such as: new models for organizational design, the power of self-organization, social and organizational network analysis, and more. They discussed the cornerstone of what makes their networked organization work: transparency, trust, authenticity, and a culture of sharing and cooperation. The CAWW network exemplifies how social and operational integration yields iterative improvements in responding to customers, working collaboratively with partners, and creating value in the marketplace. The workshop also covered what supports their work: SWARMS, Pods, Cookie Jars, Green Rooms, and other new processes based on agile and self-organizing principles.

It has long been the ethos, if not the ethic, of psychology to work via its various iterations and specialties to the betterment of individuals, groups and areas. Professional service is an important aspect of a psychologist’s identity. It is one of the “big three” (teaching, research, service) that are integral to the activities of colleagues, and is emphasized as a core value in founding documents such as the American Psychological Association’s mission (“to advance the creation, communication and application of psychological knowledge to benefit society and improve people’s lives”), vision (e.g., “…a global partner… to facilitate the resolution of personal, societal and global challenges in diverse, multicultural and international contexts”), and ethical standards (e.g., for “Justice,” “Respect for People’s Rights and Dignities,” and “giving psychology away/pro bono”).
This presentation will demonstrate how to translate service into concrete international action. Beginning with examples of specific international service needs and opportunities, at home and abroad, the presentation will highlight people, programs, and places where the vibrant potential for global service is very real and present. For current and future psychologists as well as colleagues in different areas interested in “making a difference in the world,” this talk offers a very pragmatic how-to in developing skills, identifying partners, and managing the logistics and practicalities of international service within a psychology career.

The case study discusses the potential of drone delivery and the challenges that need to be addressed before it becomes widespread.
Key takeaways:
Drone delivery is in its early stages: Amazon's trial in the UK demonstrates the potential for faster deliveries, but it's still limited by regulations and technology.
Regulations are a major hurdle: Safety concerns around drone collisions with airplanes and people have led to restrictions on flight height and location.
Other challenges exist: Who will use drone delivery the most? Is it cost-effective compared to traditional delivery trucks?
Discussion questions:
Managerial challenges: Integrating drones requires planning for new infrastructure, training staff, and navigating regulations. There are also marketing and recruitment considerations specific to this technology.
External forces vary by country: Regulations, consumer acceptance, and infrastructure all differ between countries.
Demographics matter: Younger generations might be more receptive to drone delivery, while older populations might have concerns.
Stakeholders for Amazon: Customers, regulators, aviation authorities, and competitors are all stakeholders. Regulators likely hold the greatest influence as they determine the feasibility of drone delivery.

10. "The San Francisco SMI meeting seems like only yesterday, but through the years since that meeting you have helped
all of us build a solid foundation for the SMI that will last well into the future. It has been your energy, insights,
experience and tremendous attitude that have turned this society into a well-tuned, professionally run organization,
and built its annual meeting into an internationally renowned platform for reporting on the most important advances
in molecular imaging. You should be very proud knowing that you have contributed greatly to this emerging field,
and we are all indebted to you for helping us build a vibrant organization that serves the imaging community so well.
You have helped convert a vision into a reality, and even though you have left the SMI in the very capable hands of
Charles and his team, we will miss you very much.” Chris Contag, PhD, Past-President of SMI.
"Mrs. Joan Oefner is one of the brightest Executive directors I have worked with. Her passion for the job at hand and
profound knowledge of the business, makes her an asset for anybody, who wants to grow an organization or
business. Excellent personality and outstanding character is recognized by everybody who had or will have the
pleasure to collaborate with her. I therefore can only highly recommend her organizational skills and her exceptional
leadership qualities.” Norbert Wilke, MD, FACC, FSCCT, FESC, Nürnberg, Germany, Program Chair for the 2004 and
2005 Annual Meetings of NASCI.
"Rhema took over management of all functions of the California Separation Science Society in 1996. Our situation was
dire. Under Joan’s leadership, Rhema took over and saved the society from almost certain bankruptcy. Joan’s
outgoing personality, wisdom and drive all combined to make the turn-around exciting and fun. Plus, we kept her
two best employees when she relocated to Regensburg. They are with us still. I recommend Rhema and Joan for any
society that needs competent, energetic management with a respectful soft touch and big smile. She will not let you
down.” Robert Stevenson, PhD, Editor, American Laboratory & Treasurer of CASSS.
