The document discusses social studies and its importance in elementary education, outlining the goals and approaches to teaching subjects like history, geography, anthropology, economics, sociology, and civics. Various assessment tools for evaluating student learning are presented, including post cards, Venn diagrams, quizzes, doodles, and multimedia presentations. A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

experiences, communications and be able to analyze, evaluate
and apply it to form their opinions, beliefs and actions.
Creative - marked by the ability or power to create : given to
creating.
Responsible - Being responsible means being dependable,

means developing our potential. People who are responsible
don't make excuses for their actions or blame others when
things go wrong.
7. Productive - doing or achieving a lot : working hard and getting good
results.
Cares for Environment - The environment around us is not only our home

10. DIFFERENT ASSESSMENT TOOL
USED IN ARALING PANLIPUNAN
Post Card - Have
students write a
postcard as a historical
figure to another
historical figure
discussing and
describing a historical
event.
11. DIFFERENT ASSESSMENT TOOL
USED IN ARALING PANLIPUNAN
A Venn diagram uses
overlapping circles or
other shapes to
illustrate the logical
relationships between
two or more sets of
items. Often, they
serve to graphically
organize things,
highlighting how the
items are similar and
different.
12. DIFFERENT ASSESSMENT TOOL
USED IN ARALING PANLIPUNAN
(Be the Illustrator) Read
a page of the story not
allowing students to
see the illustration.
Have each student
create a visualization
(illustration) for that
page.
13. DIFFERENT ASSESSMENT TOOL
USED IN ARALING PANLIPUNAN
Give students quizzes,
which either you mark,
or they mark. You can
use the information
gathered from the
quizzes to guide your
instruction, or to give
feedback to the
students.
14. DIFFERENT ASSESSMENT TOOL
USED IN ARALING PANLIPUNAN
DOODLE IT- Have students draw what they
understand, instead of writing it
COLD CALLING
Multimedia assessments- are an authentic
way to assess important content, speaking,
and technology skills. Elementary students
are surrounded by technology in their daily
lives, but may not be able to use it to
communicate effectively. A strong multimedia
presentation project can prepare them for
middle school, high school, and beyond.
GRADED TEST-Though not as engaging as
other options, tests at the end of a unit or
instructional period are a straightforward
way to assess student skills and knowledge.
All subjects can incorporate multiple-choice or
problem-solving tests They should still be
authentic, reliable, and valid, with a variety
of testing measures that do not increase
testing volume too much.
