Plant Research

Plant parts

• Plants are made up of different parts
• Each plant part has a certain job to help the
  plant stay alive and healthy
• These plant parts also help us identify the
  plants
Plant parts
Main Plant Parts Are
      Leaves
       Stems
      Flowers
       Roots
       Fruits
Leaves

• The Job for the leaves is to absorb sunlight
so photosynthesis can occur to make food
  for the plant
• They also let water, carbon dioxide, and
  oxygen in and out
Stems

• The stems help the plant by carrying water
and nutrients taken up by the roots to the
  leaves
Flowers

• The flowers are important for making
  seeds
• They also make new plants with
  the process of fertilization
Roots

• The roots help by supporting the plant by
anchoring the plant and absorbing nutrients
and water needed for the the plant to
  survive
Fruits

• The fruit is the ripened ovary of the plant,
  containing the seeds
• The fruit also provides humans and animals
  with food
Identifying Plants
plants can be identified in many ways!
            Here are some ways

• They can be identified by there leaves,
some plants have leaves that are different
  shapes and sizes
• Some can even be identified by there
flowers, the petals can be different colors
like red, blue and much more
