Describe the different uses of light,
sound, heat and electricity in
everyday life. (S4FE-IIIf-g-4)
Direction: Arrange the following sounds in order
from numbers 1 to 6. Start with the softest to the
loudest. (MENTIMETER)

Answer the following questions: (PICKER WHEEL)
1. Who among you has already learned how to cook rice?
2. When you cook rice, what do you use?
3. What do you feel when you’re close to a fire?
4. What did you feel if you were in the heat of the sun and wearing a
jacket?
5. Will you become overheated easily?
-The heat is very important in our daily lives, we use it to make
things warm, cooking, heating the water, fry eggs, drying the
washed clothes and many more.
- Plant life relies on heat, among other things, to survive as well.
Heat is a result of energy, which can be beneficial as well as
dangerous.
-Prolonged exposure to extreme heat can cause dehydration,
heat exhaustion, heat cramps, heat stroke, and death.
OBJECTIVES:
Describe the three ways of heat transfer.
Identify how heat is transfer in a given
situation.
Show appreciation on the importance of heat
in our lives.
What do you observe in the pictures?
Answer the following Questions:
1. What comes into your mind when you hear the word
heat?
2. Is there a possibility that heat can be transferred?
3. What are the ways of heat transfer?
Identify the heat transfer shown in each picture ? (KAHOOT)
How did you find the activity?
Did you learn something from the activity?
• How many ways we have on how heat transfer?
• What are the three ways on how heat transfer?
• What is Conduction?
• What is Convection?
• What is Radiation?
APPLICATION: Describe how heat is transferred in the following illustrations. Write
conduction, convection or radiation. (KAHOOT)

EVALUATION: (Google Form)
Choose your answer from the questions on the Google Form send via link.
1. What method of heat transfer occurs when one uses an exhaust fan?
A. conduction C. radiation
B. convection D. electrical
2. Which of the following serves as a conductor of heat?
A. cloth C. plastic
B. metal D. wood
3. Which of the following illustrations shows heat transfer by radiation?
A. B.
C. D.
4. Which of the following activities illustrates heat transfer by conduction?
A. frying eggs C. cooking rice
B. boiling water D. sitting around a camp fire
5. Which of the following DOES NOT show transfer of heat energy?
A. lighting a room with a fluorescent lamp
B. placing a spoon in a glass of hot milk
C. cutting paper in small pieces
D. boiling water in a kettle
Answer the following questions completely:
1.How does convection apply in an airconditioned room?
2.Why are handles of frying pans covered with plastic or rubber?

CONDUCTION
HOT
Transferred to
Heat from the stove
Heat travels in three ways:
When you are boiling water using a stove or firewood,
the heat from the stove or firewood is transferred into
the pot. This method of heat transfer is called
Conduction. It is a heat transfer where a cooler object
got to have a direct contact with the source of heat.
On a hot day, you would notice that you will be
asked to open the windows to let out the warm air
inside your house and let in the cooler air that may
present in your area. This is an example of heat
transfer through CONVECTION.
Sitting by the campfire makes you feel
warm during a very cold night. The
radiation coming from the fire spreads into
the nearby surrounding giving off heat and
light.
Another method of heat transfer is Radiation.
In this method, heat is transmitted across
empty space or vacuum.
