CHAPTER 1 DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION MISSION, VISION, AND CORE VALUES
VISION
We dream of Filipinos who passionately love their country and whose values and competencies enable them to realize their
full potential and contribute meaningfully to building the nation.
MISSION
To protect and promote the right of every Filipino to quality, equitable, culture – based, and complete basic education where:
Students learn in a child-friendly, gender-sensitive, safe, and motivating environment;
Teachers facilitate learning and constantly nurture every learner;
Administrators and staff, as stewards of the institution ensure an enabling and supportive environment for effective learning
to happen;
And family, community, and other stakeholders are actively engaged and share responsibility for developing life-long
learners.
CORE VALUES
Maka-Diyos Maka-tao Makakalikasan Makabansa
The Department of Education envisions in producing patriotic and nationalistic Filipino who embodied within themselves
good moral values and behavior. As well as producing Filipinos who are academically excellent and competent in their chosen fields
by discovering their innate talents and skills that are useful in nation building.
Being a learner-centered public institution, we will provide equal learning opportunities among learners that they may able
to discover learning through various facilitating styles and approaches with the help of our internal and external stakeholders. Hence,
the DepEd will continue to improve itself by providing variety of educational programs, learning experiences, instructional
approaches, and upgraded teaching strategies suited for the 21stcentury learners in order for them to cater their distinct learning
2
needs or cultural backgrounds. Moreover, the teachers as facilitators of learning guide, and ensure that the learners acquire
knowledge and lifelong skills in a safe and gender-sensitive learning environment.
To achieve the DepEd vision and mission, the learners should possess DepEd’s core values maka-Diyos, makatao,
makakalikasan and makabansa. Thus, as educators and parents, we must nurture every child to be God-fearing individual who
adhere the ethical principles by upholding truth, sensitive to the social and cultural differences and environmentally caring by
utilizing resources wisely, judiciously and economically.
CHAPTER 2 SCHOOL’S CURRENT SITUATION
A. Introducing the School
Antonio V. Fruto Sr. National High School is situated at Purok IC Cabayangan, Braulio E. Dujali, Davao del Norte. The school
is near a river or a waterway and is twenty minutes ride from the Division Office. The modes of transportation are preferably jeepneys
and motorcycle. People here are diverse, who came from different ethnicities: Ilonggos, Karay-a, Ilocanos, Tagalogs, and Dabawenos.
They engaged in farming as a majority source of livelihood. People plant rice, banana, coconut, durian, mango and other crops. Most
of the households raised ducks, goats, chicken, carabao, pig and other livestock. Some fisher folks went to fishing in mag creeks and
swampy or water-logged areas. This place like other lowlands is often visited by flood especially during rainy seasons. Moreover,
Antonio V. Fruto Sr. National High School is a medium-typed secondary high school in Braulio E. Dujali District. The school
comprises of classroom building, library and property custodian’s office, H.E room, Science Laboratory, Computer Laboratory, Mini-
canteen, principal’s and registrar’s office, mini-gym, and SHS working area. The school is often used as evacuation center in times of
heavy rains and floods.
3
B. School Performance on Access
As reflected in the EBEIS for S.Y. 2022-2023, the enrolment of Junior High school was 594 and 247 in the Senior High School.
The school seeks for additional enrollees especially in the Senior High School department. The school is known as a child- friendly
school. However, it needs to elevate the performance indicators in line with the retention, completion, and survival rate. The school
reported retention rate of 97%, completion rate of 78.5% and survival rate of 78.50%

ALS ENROLLEES S.Y. 2022-2023
As shown in the graph, currently, there are 10 Special Needs Education (SNED) learners who are mainstreamed in the regular
classes. In addition, there are 22 (18 male and 4 female) Alternative Learning Systems (ALS) learners in Grade 11 and 7 (4 Male and
3 Female) Alternative Learning System (ALS) learners in Grade 12 who were catered in the school, particularly in the Senior High
School Program. With this, there are still a need to conduct more training for teachers and provisions of learning materials and
resources to provide better learning outcomes for these students.

    1 CHAPTER 1 DEPARTMENTOF EDUCATION MISSION, VISION, AND CORE VALUES VISION We dream of Filipinos who passionately love their country and whose values and competencies enable them to realize their full potential and contribute meaningfully to building the nation. MISSION To protect and promote the right of every Filipino to quality, equitable, culture – based, and complete basic education where: Students learn in a child-friendly, gender-sensitive, safe, and motivating environment; Teachers facilitate learning and constantly nurture every learner; Administrators and staff, as stewards of the institution ensure an enabling and supportive environment for effective learning to happen; And family, community, and other stakeholders are actively engaged and share responsibility for developing life-long learners. CORE VALUES Maka-Diyos Maka-tao Makakalikasan Makabansa The Department of Education envisions in producing patriotic and nationalistic Filipino who embodied within themselves good moral values and behavior. As well as producing Filipinos who are academically excellent and competent in their chosen fields by discovering their innate talents and skills that are useful in nation building. Being a learner-centered public institution, we will provide equal learning opportunities among learners that they may able to discover learning through various facilitating styles and approaches with the help of our internal and external stakeholders. Hence, the DepEd will continue to improve itself by providing variety of educational programs, learning experiences, instructional approaches, and upgraded teaching strategies suited for the 21stcentury learners in order for them to cater their distinct learning

    2 needs or culturalbackgrounds. Moreover, the teachers as facilitators of learning guide, and ensure that the learners acquire knowledge and lifelong skills in a safe and gender-sensitive learning environment. To achieve the DepEd vision and mission, the learners should possess DepEd’s core values maka-Diyos, makatao, makakalikasan and makabansa. Thus, as educators and parents, we must nurture every child to be God-fearing individual who adhere the ethical principles by upholding truth, sensitive to the social and cultural differences and environmentally caring by utilizing resources wisely, judiciously and economically. CHAPTER 2 SCHOOL’S CURRENT SITUATION A. Introducing the School Antonio V. Fruto Sr. National High School is situated at Purok IC Cabayangan, Braulio E. Dujali, Davao del Norte. The school is near a river or a waterway and is twenty minutes ride from the Division Office. The modes of transportation are preferably jeepneys and motorcycle. People here are diverse, who came from different ethnicities: Ilonggos, Karay-a, Ilocanos, Tagalogs, and Dabawenos. They engaged in farming as a majority source of livelihood. People plant rice, banana, coconut, durian, mango and other crops. Most of the households raised ducks, goats, chicken, carabao, pig and other livestock. Some fisher folks went to fishing in mag creeks and swampy or water-logged areas. This place like other lowlands is often visited by flood especially during rainy seasons. Moreover, Antonio V. Fruto Sr. National High School is a medium-typed secondary high school in Braulio E. Dujali District. The school comprises of classroom building, library and property custodian’s office, H.E room, Science Laboratory, Computer Laboratory, Mini- canteen, principal’s and registrar’s office, mini-gym, and SHS working area.
