Scenario-based learning involves participants solving authentic job tasks or problems. It is also known as problem-based or case-based learning. Scenario-based learning works best for teaching nonroutine job tasks involving judgment and decision making, and is most suitable for learners with some relevant job experience. Scenario-based learning should be used to make learning effective and affective when addressing roles requiring decision-making, higher-order thinking skills, or behaviors and attitudes.
